I was diagnosed with hypo-thyroidism in March and my husband and I had been trying to have a baby for a year and a half now. We just found out we were pregnant about a week ago! Your thyroid can play a major role in not being able to get pregnant. Also, you don't want to get pregnant if your thyroid is not working properly because your baby depends on it for the frst three months that its growing inside of you. Therefore go see an endrocrinologist. My doctor says your thyroid TSH level should be between 1.0-2.5 while trying to get pregnant and remain there throughout your pregnancy. Now that I am pregnant I have to go get blood work done ever four weeks to make sure things are right. Get yourself healthy, and then pregnancy will take its course....

Not sure if your see a endocrinologist but if not you should see one soon. A endocrinologist is a doctor that specializes in the endocrine system and glands. If your trying to concieve you should look into seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. I suffered from graves disease/hyperthyroidism for many years before being dignosed with a thyroid problem. I had my thyroid taken out last year and was put on artificial thyroid replacement. Lots of woman get pregnant with thyroid disease, although sometimes it can be more difficult if your tsh is out of wack. Most endos recommend it be between 1 and 2 to concieve and throughout your pregnancy, Once you become pregnant they will need to increase your thyroxine since the baby wont make its own thyroid hormones untill later on in the pregnancy. Also since you have this prexsisting condition you will get frequent dr visist and be monitored very closly. For me it was easy to concieve once my meds and tsh were under control. Im now 12 weeks pregnant. Good luck and sending you tons of baby dust. Dayna :)

I know having problems with your Thyroid can play a big role in getting pregnant. There is some level that you can stabilize between like a 3 and 4 and I read that the woman became pregnant within 3 months after doing that. Talk with your dr more about this and Im not sure what the name of it is called but I know I read the article in "American Baby" magazine a few years ago. try googling it. Hoep everything works out for you!
