hi, about a year and a half ago, i got a two pack of clear blue digitals, both said PREGNANT. the VERY next day, i started my period!!! I freaked out and went to the hospital, thinking it was a miscarriage, and when i finally got to see a doctor and take a urine test, it came back negative. i asked why in the world would two pregnancy tests come back positive and then the very next day, have no traces of hcg at all? they didnt have an explanation, because i asked about a chemical pregnancy, and they said if that was the case, my hcg would still be high enough to detect; and that it would take at least a few days even after miscarriage to go down. i dont know, i just dont like them and dont trust them after that. i always go with my cheap dollar store brand! (im expecting baby #3) and they've never failed me!!!
The only indicator of a chemical pregnancy is someone who gets positive pregnancy tests, then negatives and begins to start what she believes is a period.
The sam thing happen to me as did angela418 and TristynsMama1oh1. I got a positive digital and negative clear blue 5 days later i started to bleed, it was a chemical pregnancy.
What are the signs of a chemical pregnancy?
I technically had a false positive from a ClearBlue hpt. It said "Pregnant" but I had a chemical pregnancy...
I can say for a fact that the clear blue digital will pick up on an HCG level of 25 or more. Because the day I got my BFP with one my blood test showed a level of 27. :)
I've never had a false positive with it.
When you took the digital was it using FMU? When did you take the tests that showed Negative?
it's definitely possible that if you got a negative, especially if you start/started bleeding/spotting that you had a chemical pregnancy.
I'd have your doc do a blood test and see where the HCG levels are at and if they're rising appropriately!
Well, I wouldn't necessarily call it a false positive, because there was a hormone spike, but I had a positive on both digital and regular pregnancy test when I had my chemical pregnancy. 6 days later, I started my period.
i always use the digital hpt cause it takes them longer to detect the hcg i would call the dr
