Hcg levels

If I have an ectopic pregnant (considering this because of intense pain) would HcG levels show up on a hpt like a normal pregnancy would??

Rather than speculating that you might have a life-threatening condition you really should see your dr if you still have the pain.

Its not a good idea to go by others symptoms or experiences because everybody is different.  You know your body best and if you have symptoms that concern you then you need to seek help from a medical professional.

I've had 2 ectopics and both were different experiences. Both times I took a hpt and had VERY faint lines appear after a couple of minutes. The first I had some bleeding but only mild cramps until doctors saw the ectopic in u/s. You typically can't see anything on ultrasound until HCG levels reach around 1300-1500, so I had blood tests every 2nd day until my levels were high enough. My second ectopic I had absolutely no bleeding or pain until my right tube ruptured. Both times I got to maybe 5-6weeks? Anyways, to answer your question yes It should show up on a hpt BUT because with ectopics, your levels rise slowly you may not get the obvious line. Best of luck :-)

When would the pain start with an ectopic?

Ok, I see.

Severe pain resulting from an ectopic pregnancy won't typically start at 4 weeks gestation and the majority of ectopic pregnancies are detected with a standard HPT (an ectopic is jjust like a standard pregnancy but develops outside the uterus so symptoms etc are very similar).

If your severe pain continues you really should see a dr.

I don't know if I'm pregnant. I'm going to take a hpt Thursday and I was asking if it could give me a false negative if I have an ectopic. Thursday will be the first time I'm testing so I don't know anything yet but there is a great possibility I could be pregnant

Typically they  would.

Also, Sometimes pain can be referred which means you can feel it in a different area from which it originates.  Even if pain switches sides that doesn't mean it originates from both sides.

Pain like you describe warrants a call to your dr.  You could have a very serious condition such as kidney infection, appendicitis, rupturing cyst, ectopic, etc.

Are you sure you are pregnant?  You mentioned that you had a negative HPT.  Have you had blood work to confirm pregnancy?

I'm 4 weeks and I don't know any levels. I take a hpt thursday but I'm wondering would an ectopic make my hcg levels lower than a normal pregnancy where I could get a false negative
