Heart beat at 5 weeks
I went for an ultrasound on Friday and they told me I was 5 weeks and 5 days. I heard the heartbeat (which was amazing) and they said it was 109bpm. I want to know if this is an ok number.
The heart begins beating right around 5 weeks. I've heard that it starts at 80-85 beats per minute and from there will increase 3.3 beats per day by week 9. I think 109 sounds fine. Did they schedule another u/s for you? I can remember with my son at 8 weeks the heart rate was 130-135, by the time we could hear it on a doppler, it was anywhere from 135-150. I think you are just fine since you weren't even 6 weeks yet! Most people don't even see anything until week 7. Congrats!! =) You're due in october, right? You should join our forum over there!
