I'm 32w5d and have been dealing with heartburn most of my pregnancy. I started out taking Tums but those alone didn't help at all. I asked my Dr and she was more than happy to prescribe me some medication...just a small pill that I can swallow with any meal or when I feel it coming on. She also advised me to continue taking at least 2 Tums a day as well, which I do before I go to bed...which is usually when my heartburn is the worst. I can't remember the name of the medicine off the top of my head but it definitely has helped me...nothing worse than that burning acid feeling, sometimes even making you throw up...including myself!
Good Luck! :)

If its bad enough, your doc can give you something for it.

Ive been eating yogurt when I get it! I've heard tums help but I can't get past the chalky taste.

I have heartburn everyday like crazy. Tums don't even work or milk either. It gets so bad I sometimes vomit.

Eat Fresh Grapefruit Sweetie. It turns your stomach acid into Alkaline. The most natural form of relief.  It also helps with constipation

Tums should be OK for you to take.. also drinking a glass of milk helps me. Stay away from peppermints though if you plan to breastfeed. Apparently they can effect your ability to produce.
