Heavy Bleeding and Clots- 5 weeks pregnant

I am 5 weeks pregnant and I woke up this morning with slight back pain ( nothing alarming) then I went to the bathroom and I saw a little blood when I wiped. 1 1/2 later I felt a little gush as I would on my period. I went to the bathroom again and I had started bleeding heavily. I went to the ER and they did a pelvic exam. They told me my cervix was closed but I still could be miscarrying. I have bleed all day and as of now with minor cramping if any (11:30 est) it has slacked up a lot not nearly as heavy as it was earlier. I am still nervous as this is my first pregnancy. It wasn't planned but I don't want to loose the baby, Anyone else has this type of thing happen? Was the baby ok or did you miscarry?

Thank you all so much!  It has been hard!  I am STILL having pregnancy symptoms, the same I had before I knew I was pregnant ( constant heartburn and burping). I did have sex once since then but with everything being out of whack, I wouldn't know if I was ovulating or got pregnant again or these are the same symptoms, Anyone else have this happen?  I guess I am playing the waiting game for my period

Thanks all!  I woke up in the middle of the night with bad cramps still not no clots like the one i had yesterday during the day (very minimum). I am not sure if just feeling defeated but I don't "feel" pregnant anymore, not like I did before this happened, I am not sure if it is because I've seen so much blood or what. I have an appointment at 1:50 today. I will let you all know what happens

About 3 weeks ago I had a miscarriage and I was 12 weeks already but my baby stopped growing at 9 weeks.. I started with a little bleeding and as the days went by my bleeding started to get heavier to the point where I knew I was losing my baby..I was like you..it was my first baby and it wasnt planned but I still wanted to have it... I would recommend you get checked and don't wait like I did..

When i was exactly 6 weeks this happened to me I went in for a early scan and was told I had a 1cm heamaotoma which is a little bleed in my womb, mine started with cramps and a gush and it was bright red blood but I was told its nothing to worry about and I even got to see the heartbeat so don't worry think positive and good luck
