A high resolution u/s is just a better (maybe newer) machine. My Dr's have all the major scans at the maternal fetal medicine office. They only use their machines to "check" things when they need to. You could maybe ask if they have a higher quality machine to use... or if you wait a week or so you should be able to see more on the same machine they used. 4-5 weeks would be VERY early to see ANYTHING on ANY machine. I would def try to wait until you were at least 6 weeks for another u/s, unless your Dr thinks you need another scan sooner.
How can I find a high res us ? I have insurance Even if I have to pay. U can c everything with tthis us? Im having all preg symptoms, wrst than ever
I am so sorry that you are going through this, please know that there are SEVERAL women on these boards that have had similar experiences and then have gone on to see their little peanuts a week or so later, myself included. It frustrates me SO much every time I see a post like this because Dr's are SO negative, and insensative when they don't need to be and it causes SO many mommas SO much unneeded stress!!!!! With ONE fetus they probably should see something with HCG over 16000, but you have TWO sacs!! Not to mention... HCG levels range so far apart with every women that your HCG level could be very high before its even possible to see anything!! You really can't trust HCG levels for anything other than the fact that the pg is progressing... google beta base... you will see the huge range of HCG levels for VIABLE pg's, you are well within range.
I won't lie to you, there is always risk for m/c in every pg. But at 4 weeks I really wouldn't expect to see more than a sac. I had an u/s at around 6 weeks at the ER and another around 6 weeks and couple days at my Dr. office and saw NOTHING but a gestational sac... My dr. then sent me for a high resolution u/s and we saw EVERYTHING... Gest Sac, Yolk sac, fetal pole, heart beat!!! I'm now 11 weeks 2 days!
Don't give up hope mamma! I know its an emotional rollercoaster right now, but hang in there and keep us updated on your HCG levels next week! Try to relax in the mean time (I know its much easier said than done, but its what's best for those babies)
Congrats!!!!!!
Some of the doc r saying they shoulda saw a fetus or hbeat. So its givin me false hope uno. Spade I did have a vag us. Its an emotianal rollercoaster Time is like 4ever rite now. Like I tolds nickie no new is bad to me I wanna now good or bad. The doc have me waitn a week to test hcg again. Ive never lost a bb, have healthy kids and no need 4 help gettn preg it happens frst time. The doc that gave me my hcgs I told her ive been going online, she isnt my doc just spoke with her on phone never met. She said that they should see something by 16000 hcgs. My husband thinks mayb its diff with twin bbs. I dunoo. Anyhow one sac was bhind and less than half the sz?? weird. is 19,463 normal levels 4 twins??
Looks like you may be having twins. Congratulations! It's still way too early to see the baby. The 'baby' isnt human-shaped yet, and is about the size of a pea, maybe a little bigger... it's natural that you wont be able to see anything but its sac. My husband and I werent able to see our baby until the 3rd month, and even then it looked so tiny and fragile. What youre seeing is normal. Congrats again!
Congrats on the twins you will be ok its still to early :)
If you think you conceived on July 10th then you would be in your 4th week of pregnancy and wouldnt see anything other than a sac at this time. You will not see a fetal pole until the 5th week and heartbeat is even later than that (at LEAST 6 weeks gestational age).
What you saw on the US is very normal for this gestational age and is no cause for concern. Your HCG levels are high because you have two sacs. I am surprised that you didnt have a transvaginal US. Usually this is performed rather than a "regular" US this early on into a pregnancy.
