Hit the "i feel ugly" stage :-(

My boyfriend says I look wonderful, but I feel like a big ol moo cow!! I'm 24wks and showing quite a bit, but I started out a bit overweight and it seems as the baby pushes out, my fat is moving to my sides :-(. When I wear my t shirts you can blatantly tell I'm pregnant (I've been told even when I wear my coat too), but I'll wear things that are roomy and are long enough to cover my belly, and I just feel giant!  I wanted to get maternity clothes but the stores around me (even the thrift stores!) Stopped selling them!  Theres one specialty consignment shop but they're so expensive!!  I just feel selfish because I want to feel pretty :-(  when I do my makeup and that I feel fabulous.... Then when it comes to my clothes I think "oh crap."
Anyone heave any tips? Or just feel the same?

I'm 28weeks n 5days. This is my second child. I think Jus bout every woman experiences this. Be thankful Ur husband is sure to tell u how pretty u are. It's important to hear. My husbands deployed and my three year old tells me I'm pretty n makes sure to explain to complete strangers her mom isn't fat her sisters in there lol. I'm a rather skinny person so I look like I at a beach ball n none of the air went out of it when I did. Jus remember its temporary and u will be normal size again soon. Best wishes and pregnancy is beauty that only get to have a few times in life. Enjoy it.

dude, I feel like I'm supposed to feel more feminine with the mood swings and giant boobs, but with acne like I'm 15 again and NONE of my clothes fit even though ive only gained 10lbs I feel like im having an out of body experience. But I don't. All I want is my husband to tell me that I look good without me telling him I feel like an elephant. The problem with my maternity pants its that I have giant muscular thighs and a thinner waist so they fit in all the wrong places. I know how you're feeling. But I keep telling myself that its well with it, because I will get my son.

I'm also 24 wks and feel like a big blob. I'm showing alot also and my skin is all broken out with pimples and my nose is expanding. My bf says I'm beautiful too but its hard to believe when looking in the mirror. My first pregnancy I felt the same. I'm having a girl and they say girls steal your beauty...small price to pay for 9 months when I get a beautiful baby in the end. Anyway Congrats! Your not alone feeling that way. Wish you the best. Btw after my first pregnancy I looked great again...lets hope that happens again ;)

I agree ROADTRIP!! I live in a small town and we have ONE store with maternity clothes but I love the ones i have found and not bad prices and when i go outta town the prices at this store go down!! So if you can find a Burkes Outlet go there! I have gotten pants for 10-15$$ and maternity tops for 5-7$ and they have all different sizes im small but i have seen all the way up to large and extra large clothing and i have seen pants up to a size 14 just depends on what you re looking for but i bet you could find something! I like the pants w the small band its the most comfy for me but they have the big band ones also! and like the ladies said you are beautiful im showing quite a bit too you can see from my pics and im 23 wks but we re all baby right now so dont put yourself down!!

Get one good pair of maternity trousers...I like the ones that go over the bump...and then just get regular tops in bigger size....I find maternity tops can make u feel bigger...oh and a good fitting bra. And strut that bump girl :-)

It does sound like a fun road trip opportunity. I live in a major city, but it's sprawling and we routinely drive an hour and even with my pregnancy need-to-pee lol, it's not a bad drive. Grab a good girlfriend and make it a day, sounds like just what you need. You will feel better when you have better clothes, some days I actually think I look kinda cute with my big ol belly. ;)

I hit that stage a few weeks ago :( I know how you feel. Just remember YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!! For me, I went and got my hair cut, fixed my makeup all nice and neat, I managed to find a shirt in my closet that I haven't outgrown yet, and got a nice pair of pants. It boosted my confidence a lot. I usually wear sweat pants and baggy shirt or a hoddie. I went to my college might class all fancied up and got a lot of compliments. It made me feel a lot of better and I am starting to take control over this stage. My friend told me that stretchable shirts are good, dressy shirts that have the loose bottoms (the part that is under the breast line that covers your abdomine) are great to show off your baby bump, and Kmart and JC Penny's has pants that have elastic waist lines and are still cute. There are also many online maternity clothes sellers. you are beautiful, don't let the "ugly thoughts" make you think any differently.

You may be able to find some things online...or maybe you have a friend in another city who could shop for you and ship some things to you? I have a neighbor who randomly went maternity clothes shopping for me (it was very sweet) and my mom's picked up a few things for me, so I think our close women friends/family even enjoy it.

You have an excuse to gather up your friends for a shopping road trip! I found some decent stuff at JCPenney that wasn't too expensive.

Or you could just go to a store with a little bit of maternity clothing to try on and find your size, then order online from other stores. Most stores still have maternity lines, they just don't offer them anywhere but online anymore.

I've bought bigger shirts and then just sewed ribbon onto the seam at the sides to look like a maternity top..that way I could tie the ribbon in the back and the tops weren't too loose!!

I don't know how helpful I am since I feel the same way! I felt like this during my first pregnancy too, probably since I have struggled with my weight for years. I typically wear L/XL tops and found a few "plus-sized" tunic type shirts whose styles I preferred to some of the maternity clothes I have looked at. It was hard for me to admit that but it sort of happened by accident at first as I stumbled across the first miscategorized at a TJ Maxx.I guess it's the same principle as alaysha suggested.

eh in my area we try not to buy anything from craigslist because bed bugs are bad in my area.  I looked at ebay, but I'm always too chicken lol.  I have bought some bigger sized stuff and it works, but i just feel so big lol doesn't help all my cousins that are pregnant are size zeros lol.   And no one has said anything mean, just silly stuff like I've finally popped, out how much belly button do I have left lol.  I an just letting my mind get to me ha ha.  Although I know after I have the baby I'll be thinner than I started because I've lost ten pounds and only gained five lol

You can make non-maternity clothes work as well. Buy a loose dress a couple sizes bigger so it covers your belly and then belt it under your boobs. I did that during my pregnancy when I couldn't find and cute maternity dresses.

It's just your mind messing with you since your body has change so dramatically over a relevantly short period of time! But I know the feeling all to well so I do suggest to do what makes you feel best to help with feeling and enjoy your pregnancy! Have you tried Craigslist? I'm sure you can find cheap gently used clothes form other moms. Or eBay had maternity clothes as well. My last suggestion is to buy normal clothing in bigger sizes that look maternity-ish! Like baby doll shirts, cardigans, or those long shirts and pair them with leggings, or jeggings so it's comfy, stylish, and you will look slim from your legs and pregnant at the belly :)
