How Long To Hold For OPK

Ok I am new to testing for OPK's.... I started on cycle day 9 this month and now am on cycle day 13... I ordered my tests from Early-Pregnancy.com but have one question... I Have been taking my tests at 11 am / 2 pm and either 4 5 or 6 pm once even at 10 pm...

I reduce my intake for fluids at least 2 hours before tests, should I increase this or is it good enough? Also I was unsure on if or how Long I should hold my urine for... Usually I have just been stopping the fluid intake 2 hours before but maybe only holding my urine for 1 hour... From all the reading I am doing this is not long enough ? Correct?

If someone could pleas help me out so I can get onto hopefully getting a positive one this cycle I would really appreciated I am just so confused and frustrated right now.

Just having a line on an OPK doesn't mean its positive. The test line has to be as dark or darker for it to be a positive.

ok heres my dilema....I took a dollar store tree ovulation test and its a faint line....but I thought I ovualtedf 2 weeks ago...maybe I about to ovulate now... who knows.. oh I took ,ines at 10:30 in the morning!

How many days are in your cycle.  I learned last month that I ovulate on day CD 16-17.  I have a 29-30 day cycle.

Thanks for the advice ladies...

I took my regular OPK at 11 and it was pretty much a big blank... I will test again around 2/3 and see if anything is there then... I am just wondering if I would have bought a more expensive kind like First Response of Clear Blue if the lines would be more clear? Hopefully I never missed my LH surge.

When I was using OPK I was like you and didnt know much about them. I first took them in the morning but heard you should take them in the afternoon. Well, I started taking them on my lunch break starting from CD4 and I got a faint positive a few days later. I thought it was an evap and kept taking them and got another positive about a week later. Now I am pregnant with twins. Explains a lot huh? I'm sure you will get your positive in the next few days. And I agree with the above poster to also track your BBT. Not only is it more accurate but it's FREE :) Good luck to you and sending lots of baby dust your way.

that should answer all the questions i found it very useful, also may i sugesst doing basal body temps too, it will help you determine when you have indeed ovulated,
