How early can you tell?

I'll be 16 weeks and a day at my next ultrasound, just wondering, if the baby cooperates, should we find out what it is ?

A friend of mine found out at 16 weeks that she was having a boy. But my insurance only allows 3 ultrasounds so I found out I was having a girl at 20 weeks and 2 days

That's not true at all.
My dr checks gender at 16 weeks.
I was 15 weeks and 5 days when I found out it was a girl.  I gave birth to a girl. The reason most people find out at 20 weeks is because that's the anatomy scan and most insurances only allow you 1 or 2 ultrasounds. Parts are fully developed by 16 weeks.  So to answer your question...yes, if your dr wants to do an Ultrasound,  you could find out the gender.  It just depends on your dr if they're going to check.
