How long after birth did you period come back

I gave birth on Sept 2ND to my daughter. It's been three weeks since and I haven't got my period. I have been having unprotected sex  since Sept 4Th and I have that pressure in my lower abdominal and I know I get that feeling when my period is coming but it's a different feeling like the pressure in early pregnancy. I was wondering when do you ovulate after giving birth and when should I expect my first period?
I have two other children and within two weeks of their birth I started my period.

I have already taken a test to make sure my level we at 0 about a week after she was born and it was neg. The only reason I took the test was since I was so stressed about what happened it felt like I was in a dream (a bad dream) and I thought maybe I would wake-up and saw oww I'm still pregnant and my daughter is not gone. I know that may sound dumb but thats what it felt like.

Thats what i figured that if I started to use the day I stopped bleeding for the first day. But then I have a RN telling to to use the day she was born. So i am so confused about that. Yes I am sure I want to start asap just because of the fact that if I am not pregnant then my ENDO will put me on meds that could do damage to a child if I happened to get p/g after starting it . And that is the last thing I would want to happen and I feel it will help me deal with the loss. I had two m/c before I got p/g with my 1 year old daughter and all three p/g were in a 9 month gap and with the first m/c I bleed for 4 months (so we really got to work lol) and I feel that becoming p/g again helped me with the pain of losing a child.

I got my period 10 months after I had my baby girl but I am breastfeeding. Seriously it can take awhile. Wait another few weeks and take a test. If it is positive 6 weeks post-partum then it is most likely a new pregnancy. Good luck!

Oh I see I am glad you mentioned that because I was going to say my period didn't come back for about 5-6 months because I was breastfeeding exclusively.  I think if the bleeding has stopped you could start counting from when the bleeding started to give you an estimate.  Are you sure you are ready to try again after such a terrible loss?

No I stopped bleeding about a week and a half after she was born. I should also explain alittle more. My daughter was born at 18 wks to where some doctors consider she a late m/c and other consider her a live birth b/c she lived for 1hour and 36 mins. I get a health card and birth certificate for her (b/c the hospital also consider her a live birth). I have one doctor that says it okay to start TTC asap b/c he considers her a late m/c. And I have another doctor that says wait 2 cycles b/c she considers her a live birth. So right now I am so confused b/c I am getting to different answers from two different docs.

well i'd suggest you go to the DOC instantly to clear your mind. women are most vunerable to expect again after birth so u visit the doc. and in my opinion you should have given rest to your system for atleast 6 weeks . hope all is well
