How long before I conceive?

I had my IUD removed in July of 2008. My husband and I have been trying to conceive since then. I had a period in July, August, and September. I did not have one in October and November. I had one in December and January. I did not have one in February and March. I was just wondering if this is normal or is there a chance I could be pregnant? When I did not start in February, I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I agree with Mumita---sounds like irregularity issues more than anything.  I know when menses has stopped, sometimes they will give you progesterone to take for a few days to trigger your period.  It's kinda like a reset button for your ovulation system ;-)  I went through it once, after a miscarriage.  Worked like a charm and my periods went straight back to normal after being irregular for a couple of months.

Have you always had irregular periods or is this something new?

Mumita's right though----take another test first just to be sure.

You could take another test now and see if you are pregnant.  It could be but it sounds that you are irregular.  May I ask what kind of IUD you had?  I had a copper IUD so I never missed one period but I've heard that the Mirena IUD which is hormone based can make you skip periods which could be causing the irregularity.  Or you could be pregnant.
I got my IUD removed on Feb of 2008 and I conceived in May (had a miscarriage) and then conceived again in Nov. now I'm 5 months pregnant.
You should go to your doctor and see what may be causing your irregularity, hopefully you are pregnant :)
