How much do you per week on groceries?

Random question but my husband and I are figuring out our budget before baby #2 arrives and I would to hear what everyone's budget for groceries are like?

We have two adults and a one year old and spend about $250 a month in groceries. I'm starting to feel like it's not enough.

Its just me and my husband and we spend $100 a month. If that. We shop at walmart for groceries, and we go about every 2 weeks, spending $30-60 each time. But we haven't had to buy bread or veggies or meat because our freezer is full of it. Mainly sandwich stuff and chips for my husband lunch, eggs, yogurts, fruits, milk, cheese, bleach for cleaning the bathroom, and dog food whenever we need it.

We have 7 people in house... 5 kids ages 7,5,3,2,1 and me and my husband. We spend close to 900-1000  a month on food...you women have got to be starving...lol... I can't even shop for a week for 100. I don't spend enough on food but that is our budget for food. You should spend between 150- 200 per person each month but most people don't spend that much... just buy what you need for a month what ever that cost set that much aside for food each month.

Getting up $400 now between my son having an increase in appetite and this pregnancy. Can't just eat crap anymore and have to buy a constant supply of prune juice, plums, and Ativan to be able to go the bathroom. :(

I'm currently staying with my parents and there's 4 adults, we spend between $400 and $600 month. When it was just me and my fiancé we spent around $100 to $200 a month. You can spend waaay less than that. If you shop at Aldis and a place like Costco or Sams club you can probably spend close to $50 a month. It's all about planning meals ahead of time. When we get back on our own we plan on sitting down one night a month and planning our month of meals, then you go on one big shopping trip and that's it for the month. Go on Pinterest and search for "month meal plans" or "food on a budget" and you'll get loads of ideas. I'm personally not a coupon person but you don't have to be to get deals, it's really just a matter of planning and avoiding going out to eat (we plan on date nights every other Friday at a restaurant as a reward for not eating fast food lol). Never shop hungry either! That way you won't end up buying things you don't need and make sure to stick to your list exactly! Good luck :)

We spend $200 max a month, and thats getting extra stuff we dont always get.  Usually $130 is what I prefer,  when I shop without hubby lol. But I always get stuff on sale, and know how to get my deals and still have large healthy meals and always enough to eat:)
