yah, I have taken two doses of Extra Strength Tylenol today and it did nothing. It just isnt strong enough for my migraines. I have to wait to see what my doc says tomorrow. She is out today. Though I am going to try the other things to see if it will help get me through until then. Today is day number 3.
I had realy bad headaches as well at first as much as I was in pain I wouldnt take anything. Then I talked to my doctor and he said I could take tylenol.
Thanks so much for the tips ladies. Ill give it all a shot. Good luck to you too. :-) Hope you and your babes stay healthy.
I would be willing to try anything to see if worked. Also, this may help especially if it is a tension headache. Take a sock (preferably clean tee-hee) and put rice (uncooked) heat in the micro for about 15 - 30 seconds (no longer you don't want to cook it, just heat it up) and put it across your shoulders and neck. It seems to help me when I get one.
Hi all,
Thank you so much for all your help.
Best regards,
Sue
I've suffered from migraines since I was 10 years old, and these are my rituals for pregnancy headaches: take 2 Tylenol Rapid Release geltabs at onset, lay down in a dark & quiet room (no reading or watching tv, this makes headaches worse. Wear ear plugs if necessary) and try to get a nap for 1 hour. I also use a hot compress any time I have a headache. I have an all-natural herbal pillow that you put in the microwave to heat up, then press on your head where it hurts. I have heard that for SOME people, headaches during pregnancy improve later on, when hormones start to balance out; hopefully this is the case for you. Congrats on your pregnancy!! And best wishes to you. :)
ps - the tea you're drinking is safe; try putting the mug up to your head when it's hot to numb the pain. It always works for me!
I have heard peppermint for nausea, but do you know if it really helps with headaches? How about migraines?
I have also heard peppermint for headaches and nausea too.
Tea for headaches - definitely the ginger. It is supposed to help with nausea too. So you can't go wrong either way.
Other than Tylenol I dont know what to tell you. I get really bad migraines, and the best I can do is extra strength tylenol. With my second child I had to get prescription strength or it didnt even take the edge off. It was through my entire second trimester though. Not at the beginning. I am now 7 weeks 5 days today. Tylenol is the best I can help you with. Sorry.
