I am loosing weight!

I am obese and around 10 weeks pregnant. Prior to pregnancy, I have been trying to lose weight to no avail. Now that I am pregnant, I seem to be losing 1-3 pounds a week! I am not exercising as much as I tire way easier than before, I am drinking the same amount of water as before, and I think I am eating the same amount of food (I don't want to eat more as I can only gain 10-15 pounds during the entire pregnancy), so how is this possible? Please help. While losing weight should be a good thing, I don't want to do it if it will hurt my baby.

I wasn't overweight, I was actually decently skinny but for the first 20 weeks I still managed to lose about 10-15lbs. I still think it was moreso because I stopped drinking soda when I found out, and they always say cutting most soda out will help with weightloss. Never changed my eating habits and I never had morning sickness. But no I've gained all those pounds back, but I am drinking a soda a day too. Which I think adds to it

I would say I was over weight when I got pregnant and So far I have only gained 5lbs and my doc says my baby is prob around 6lbs so I have lost weight as well but im doing great and measuring fine! Im actually proud of myself bc I thought i would gain a ton of weight when I became pregnant.

Agreed it wont hurt your baby. I'm 20 weeks and I've lost 17 pounds. Your baby will take what it needs to develop from you. Also if u get bad morning sickness you are probably going to lose weight. Just hang in there.

hey there,
it wont hurt the baby. i too am obese and am pregnant. my doctor told me its okay to keep up my exercise routine and even eat few calories, not increase them. your body makes baby priority number one so it gets all the nutrients it needs. so you will feel yucky and know something is up before baby will even know something is different. he also said its normal for large women to lose weight at first. your body will burn more calories so if you haven't changed your food intake it may result in a few pounds dropped. i wouldn't worry, in fact, i'm jealous. wish i could lose some weight.
congratulations on your pregnancy!
