I failed my glucose test:(

I failed my 1 hour glucose test. I am so bummed I really wanted to get it over and done with and pass. Now I have to go back for the 2 hour test. Anyone fail the first test and come out ok for the second? Any tips on what I can do to better my chances at passing the second?

this is going to sound like a stupid question but can the fasting time include when you are sleeping or would it be 10 to twelve hours after waking up cuz i do not think i could handle that!

I failed my 1hr and passed the 3hr.Make sure you dont eat anything 10-12hrs prior to the test. You can drink water.Bring some food for after the test as you may be a little lightheaded after fasting and also a good book to read.

I came in at 8.1 and 7.8 is the beginning of higher levels so I wasn't that far off so hopefully this next test will go smoothly! Thanks for the replies!

Many doctors will give you a special diet to follow for 3 days prior to the longer test.  If they don't just be sure to limit the amount of sugar you take in for a few days before.

With 3 of my pregnancies I failed the 1 hr, but passed the 3 hour just fine.  A lot of women do.
