I have a diagnosis. . . Kind of!

So, I've been ttc for almost a year, and so far, all my tests have come back pretty normal.  But, my cycles are long and screwed up, ranging from 35-45 days.  I definitely ovulate, but it's all over the map.

I went to the doc yesterday for day 3 labs, and my RE decided to test my thyroid as well.  Turns out I'm hypothyroid and need to take pills daily now.  I'm actually happy with the diagnosis because it could be a reason for my irregularity.  I feel renewed hope!

Mumita - I would demand your thyroid gets checked.  Afterall, it's only a blood test.  I will be so happy if this regulates me a bit more. :-D

Rachjas0623 - Good luck to you as well!  I believe I'm also on 25mcg daily.  :-D

I was just DX hypothyroid 7 weeks ago.  I am on synthroid 25mcg daily.  This is my second cycle with RE.  Last cycle I took 50mg of clomid.  I did O, but from the wrong side.  The HSG I had done showed one of my tubes is blocked.  This cycle, I took 100mg of clomid.  I go in for a follie check SUN.  Hopefully, I am going to O from the good side this month.  I just got a call from my regular Dr. my thyroid is now in check.  So hopefully, that will help this cycle.

i'm glad you found that out, your body may start acting normal again.  I have asked to get my thyroid checked many many times because I have a suspicion that its not working right BUT doctors always say no.

Thanks for the comments ladies!  I feel like this could have really been the issue all the time, and I'm feeling hopeful that this will happen for me.  I needed some hope cause I was feeling pretty down in the dumps.  I'll also need to get used to taking a pill daily cause I've heard this is simply something that I may have to take the rest of my life.  My Mom is hypothyroid too, so I don't know why I didn't think of this before!

Thanks Laura! I'm definitely hoping so!  I was googling symptoms of hypothyroidism, and ovulation issues are definitely one of them.  I'm just so grateful my RE caught it!  Last time I had an ultrasound, he saw I had many healthy looking follicles in my ovaries, and he didn't understand why they weren't dropping.  It all makes sense. :-D
