I think I lost my Mucus Plug. Any thoughts?

I think I lost started to loose my mucus plug the other day. There was a lot of mucus and the same can be said for every time I go to the bathroom. Its clear (no pink, brown, or red) but Im only 34 weeks. I read on a lot of websites that once the mucus plug comes out you can go into labor anywhere from one hour to two weeks. I know that in some cases it can regenerate but I feel like I am losing a lot of some kind of mucusy substance. Also, my doctor did test me for the possibility for preterm delivery and although I am not at high risk she says there is still a chance because of how close this baby is to my first. Should I be concerned?

Well I get braxton hicks contractions like crazy! I did with my 1st as well. Also, the baby dropped a few weeks ago. (She dropped really early due to the fact that, like I said, this baby is so close to my first). As of three-ish weeks ago I hadnt started dilating but my appointment is thur. or fri. and I just didnt know if I should check in with my doctor sooner, or at least give my nurse a ring.

I would go to the dr have them do a NST which is to monitor you for contractions have them check to see if you have dilated and see if the baby has dropped

I was about 36 when I was pregnant with my son and the mucus plug was coming out in huge amounts. It freaked me out how much mucus there was b/c it's something that no one really talked about before I experienced!  I had my 37 week check up after that and the dr said there wasn't anything really happening but I could go any time (meaning the baby was ready and would be healthy).    I had sex with my husband a few days later and 2 days after that the baby was born and all was well.

If your mucus plug is out and this is your first pregnancy - I'd say avoid having sex. There is a protein in sperm that induces contractions!

Good luck!

If there's no blood in it, it's probably not anything concerning.  Women can lose their plugs and continue to lose pieces as it regenerates WEEKS before labor actually begins.  A friend of mine began losing hers at 32 weeks and was induced on her due date due to lack of progress.  If you start to notice it being streaked with pink brown or red, call your doctor...especiallly if you are cramping or contracting when it occurs.  As long as it's clear it's probably nothing to be concerned about.  If your next appt isn't too far away just mention it to your doc then.
