I have the same problem. I have a blighted ovum. I don't feel any pregnancy symptoms but nowadays I felt stomach cramps. But it doesn't really hurt. What does it mean? Can anybody tell me if they experienced it also.?

I hope that your pregnancy ends up being viable.. Your numbers are rising so that is a great sign...

I got diagnosed with a blighted ovum in my first pregnancy...  I found out at 12 weeks... (i didnt have a scan sooner)...  But its 100% normal to only see a sac at 4 to 5 weeks pregnant...

Dont give hope up yet if your numbers are rising and your early, they cant say its a blighted ovum now....

I did have symptoms with my blighted ovum...  Really sore breasts, vomitting (though not that much), extreme tiredness... bloating...  But my symptoms greatly faded at 9-10 weeks, and it just felt wrong.... Id id feel alot of uterine stretching but it felt different than my current pregnancy (but it could have been because it was my first pregnancy so stretching could be less intense this time due to the fact my uterus kept growing until after my d&c last week)

I wish you the best of luck on your ultrasound and I hope that everything is fine. I am so sorry, you are going through this stress

First im sorry you are going through this and im sure its unneeded stress. I have had a blighted ovum and its not something you can diagnose at 4 or 5 weeks. Mine was not diagnosed until almost 10 weeks after having ultrasound every week starting at 7 weeks. At 5w2d it is normal to only see a gestational sac so try not to worry. With my current pregnancy i had an ultrasound at 5w2d and only seen a gestational sac but then at 7w5d there was baby with a heartbeat of 170.

p.s.  I couldn't sleep last night.  I was up reading in the whirpool tub about pregnancy.

I SPECIFICALLY remember reading that most bleeding during pregnancy happens within 48 hrs after sex or an exam.  By then most women are in a panic because they didn't immediately remember what happened 2 days ago!  They are too focused on the current bleeding.

The cervix is VERY sensitive when pregnant.  A lot of women bleed after sex during this time.

some pregnancy test can detect hormones about a week before you miss you peroid.  If this is the case then your ultra sound dates very well could be correct.

I have also heard of some women not seeing a heartbeat until 7 + weeks.

hang in there.  You are not spotting now.  Try to enjoy being pregnant.  I know it's easy for me to say now...  30 weeks ago I think I actually had a panic attack about the same topic.

2 saturdays ago seems to me like a long time since you had the spotting / bleeding.  I always thought if you miscarried, the spotting intensified into bleeding.  yours has stopped.  my mom has a miscarriage also, her spotting turned to bleeding too.  it didn't stop.

Brown blood can just be old blood.  sometimes the uterus needs to shed some of that old junk when it realizes that it is pregnant.  I have even heard of some women doing that every month about the time they would have expected their peroid.  You can also bleed easily when pregnant after a pelvic exam or having sex of some kind.

How are you determining your dates if you hadn't had a peroid in awhile??  Are you going by the ultrasound dates or your own?  The first time I was pregnant, my cycle was irregular & I really thought I was further along than I was.  When did you take a pregnancy test?  Maybe you caught the pregnancy on your own test SUPER early I you are like a week off??

How do you FEEL?  tenderness, gassiness, bloated, nausea (even without vomiting) are all good signs.  I had some symptoms when I miscarried but they were very light.

hmmm... I don't remember feeling any round ligment pains.  It was more like just sporadical sharp cramping.

I DID feel a little gaggy, but other than that I think I felt pretty good.  I remember thinking it was odd that my breasts didn't hury (cause they hurt like crazy with my first child)

This last pregnany, I didn't have much breast tenderness either...  it worried me, but each pregnancy can be different.

With my miscarriage (missed)  Same as blighted ovum I guess...  I started spotting a little orangish colored stuff.  Then it turned to brown blood (which can still be normal in pregnancy)  Then I started full on bleeding.  I felt a lot of crampiness, like a bad peroid pains.  About 2 days later I had horrible contractions & passed it all.

I was never told what my levels were with any of my pregnancies.  Yours are rising!  that is wonderful!

Unfortunately, I had a lot of cramps when I miscarried AND When I had full term pregnancies.  It is hard to tell the difference.  However, When I miscarried, the cramps were very sharp at times.  This last time I am pregnant, they are more like menstrual cramps.

Has the doctor incicated there may be a problem, or are you torturing yourself reading too much on the internet?

Any spotting or bleeding?

I just went back & checked your other posts.....

Due dates can be off.  Especially when you are unsure of your cycle times due to irregularity or stopping birth control.

I DID have a miscarriage in Oct 2009 at 13 weeks.  The pregnancy did not develop properly.  it was a missed miscarriage.  I ended up miscarrying naturally, so if you have any questions, I am happy to answer.

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant.  I was so terrified in the early weeks that it was going to end in a miscarriage again.  I ended up freaking out & going to the ER, cause I wasn't having pregnancy symptoms.  (crazy, I know)  Anyway at that time I was 5 weeks 5 days.  They said they couldn't see anything yet.  I continued to panic.  At 8.5 weeks I saw a obgyn, who did an ultrasound & the heart was beating away.

Give it time.  Try not to worry.  there isn't much to see in the early weeks.  When is your next appt?

yes.  sometimes your body doesn't realize that the pregnancy has stopped progressing.  It can take a few weeks for your body to realize this.

This DOES NOT mean that YOU have a blighted ovum.  Why is this a concern?  Cramps are normal with a pregnancy that is continuing to develop as well as one that is not.

Have you been to a doctor?
