I'm so itchy!!!

I went to see my doctor today about a rash that has come up in a few places on my body and about my constant itching EVERYWHERE! Well he prescribed me a cream that isn't really helpful and Hydroxyzine Pamoate which is generic for Vistaril but I'm scared to take it as it is a used as a sedative and to treat anxiety....I'm just curious if there is anyone who has taken this? I know my doctor wouldn't purposefully prescribe anything to hurt my baby but I definitely don't want to take anything that will! Ahh I'm soo itchy though idk what to do!

A good friend of mine got a rash when she was pregnant with her daughter.. I can't remember what it's called, but it comes during pregnancy and the only way to get rid of it is to deliver the baby. She said it itched ALL over and she had like a red splotchy rash all over her body. She couldn't stop itching for anything. If this sounds like what you have I would ask your doctor if you could possibly have it. I believe it isn't threatening to you or baby, it's just miserable and may be reason enough for them to deliver the baby once you reach an appropriate time in your pregnancy. Sorry I couldn't be very helpful with what it's called.

It could be a new allergy. Is there anything you have changed recently or used different? Laundry soap, fabric softner, soap, foods, car or home refreshner? That could have triggered a pregnancy related allergic reaction. You can try a baking soda bath. Use warm water and baking soda and just soak in it. That could help the irritation of your skin.

It just seems to keep spreading :( I am 35 weeks! I will try the aveeno body wash though! I am currently using Dove for sensitive skin but that's my everyday soap no matter what so maybe trying something new will help! Thank you

Does the rash come and go? I had a rash that only came at night. If you are past 13 weeks you can take zyrtec and benedryl at the same time.  I took aveeno non fragrance body wash bath during the day and at night. It worked. I still take aveeno baths. When I had the rash I was 19-20 weeks. Now im 23 weeks. :) good luck
