Implantation bleeding? Can I produce good test results?

Hello,

I had a brief lapse in birth control pills for a couple weeks, but continued to use spermacide.  I have started my pills again one weekago, but yesterday I noticed what I've been told could be implantation bleeding (light pink, then it turned into a light brown and only lasted for one day).  I have also experienced bloating and premenstral symptoms that I think could be pregnancy symptoms as well.  I'd like to take a pregancy test, but I'd really like it to be reliable.  Being that the implantation bleeding occured yesterday, how soon can I take a pregnancy test and it be accurate?  Thank you!

I should've received my period in during the last four pills of the last pill pack.  With Loestrin, the pills tell you when you should have your period and it's during the last four pills of the pack.  I did not have one.  That last pack I took very religiously, but then had the lapse until one week ago.  So, I was not taking the pill for about 1 1/2 weeks, then started again.  I've been spotting for the last 2-3 days now, but certainly no regular period.  I've been bloated as if I was on my period though.  I'd like to be sure, but it would be so early that I'm not sure if the pregnancy test would be accurate and it would just be a waste of a test.

Do you know when you'd expect your period?  I know stopping and starting the pills again can mess up your cycles, so that's why I ask.
