Irregular periods and nothing on early scan

Went for early scan as have a history of miscarriage.
Did external scan and nothing there, I have irregular periods which may well mean im less than I thought (going by last period would make me 7w 3 days.) I dont think im that far along, took bloods to check hcg, no bleeding or discomfort.
At what point does something show? will go back for another scan after hcgs have come back

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

So i would say your right on schedule.it isnt low  pretty good.at this stage an external scan be no option for you,but an internal one at this stage will just show you a little black dot if your lucky enough.i had mine at 4week 3 days.this was all we could see,docs prefer a level of 1000 before they can really see much.

So dont worry all sounds well.and congratulations ;)

further to the last post...ive just had my bloods back from first lot...353 which I know is low! just wondered if it was in keeping with my 3-4 calculation of when I think I conceived?
after this post im not going to worry anymore until my second test Saturday..

p.s. very possible u ovulated later than normal. I did with my daughter.

yeah they were gonna do an internal, but they opted out as they then agreed that i was probably very early..and having had bad experience with the internal I think he thought id had enough for one day.

Im just going to be calm and wait it out...thanks for the info

with a external scan i'd say 7 weeks u start seeing stuff. I'd have asked for a internal scan, much better for early pregnancy.

an external scan? that is not as reliable as a transvaginal u/s i thought.  think happy thoughts...

yeah thought so, just a bit of a shocker this morning when everything else is giving off the signs etc, you somehow manage to convince yourself that there is a whole lot more going on and then tell yourself not to be surprised if there isnt and then you are surprised...
will have patience, clear blue indicator says 2-3 weeks, which although maybe a week out would probs be about right.

it usually shows between 6 and 7 weeks. but like you've said, could be you're less pregnant than you think. you'll know for sure on your next scan
