By the way they wrote that prescription for YOU not just the everyday person. YOU are supposed to take 1-2 every howmany hours
Ladies, as Quinns Momma said, op said she that her Dr wrote the script with the knowledge that she's preggo.
Because that's what they said you can take, take it how it's prescribed. YES It is ok to take vicoden while pregnant while your doctor knows your taking it. My doctor has me on a medicine 2x stronger than vicoden, they know I'm pregnant but it's needed for pain so I take it like my prescription says.
The trick is to take the minimum dose, and if that works for you then you don't need more, but if you require 2 pills for the pain to subside then take that. You may need to take it every 4-6-8 hrs whatever they wrote on the bottle, but once you get your pain under control it might only take 1 pill .
I hope that makes sense
She stated above that she did see her doctor and he is aware of her pregnancy and he still prescribed the Vicodin to take 1-2.
You need to consult a medical professional about how much to take.
You're only allowed regular strength tylonal while you're pregnant unless ordered by your doctor.
Ask your doc before you take any.
Then I would think it is ok to take 2 since it says that on the directions that the doctor gave to the pharmacy when it was phoned in.
Feel better soon!
i was given it by a doctor yesterday and they know i am pregnant.
Make sure your dr knows you are pregnant. My dr gave me vicodin twice while I was pregnant for a UTI and a back injury. The way they put it to me was you should only take it when the benifit out weighs the risk. In both cases I was in too much pain to function so I really needed it.
You should only take Vicodin while pregnant if it is ordered by your physician. If he/she is the one who ordered it he will be able to provide you adequate directions to its use.
If you are not under a doctors care I do not advise taking any narcotic pain medication. Tylenol is the only recommended medication for pain relief while pregnant.
I know you may be in pain but I would consult a doctor before taking any more of them. Were they given to you before or after you became pregnant? I don't even want to take tylenol when I have a bad headache b/c I don't want to hurt the baby. How far along are you? I think the best bet would be to ask a professional just to be safe. Feel better
