Hello,i am new to this, but I am so afraid and I just need someone to help me clear my mind. My husband and I waited three years until we finally got lucky with a pregnancy test last week.today I went in to see my doctor and found out that I am 5 weeks 4 days pregnant.  When he did the ultrasound there was no sac no baby.  Should I be worried?am I pregnant or not. I'm scared

I had one yesterday and they did an ultrasound on the belly and a transvaginal ultrasound. They see the sac, but they did not see the fetal pole yet. They said it's too early. I go to my OB on March 4th for my 8 weeks ultrasound.

it just depends on the pregnancy i saw a sac at 5 weeks on an abdominal ultrasound.

yes, it is early.  I had an ultrasound at about 5 weeks 6 days, we a very little change but she moved to the vagina and got a much better view, from there we saw a flutter on the screen, but it was too hard to get a clear view to date it.  I thought I was 6 weeks, but it looked like a little less, and i got the 5 weeks 6 days from when I believe I ovulated.

At 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 weeks is when you can start to see a heartbeat but from what I read it would need to be seen via the vagina ultrasound because you can get a clear pic.  The baby is still too small to see too much.

I wouldn't worry.  Trust me when I say there is no way anything could be seen through the stomach at this point.  I can't believe the doc wouldn't have done a transvaginal.

Im not for sure on this but I think it would be extremely hard to see anything on a abdominal ultrasound at that time. My doctor told me we couldnt see a heartbeat till 6 to 7 weeks and that was by a vaginal ultrasound we did however see I sac at 4 weeks but again that was by a vaginal ultrasound. I didnt have any abdominal ultrasounds till 12 weeks

They would only see a sac if they did a transvaginal ultrasound.  It's WAY WAY WAY too early to see anything through an ultrasound machine on the surface of the stomach.  Usually ultrasounds are transvaginal until at least 12 weeks.

well typically its too early to see the baby but you should have seen a sac...are they testing your hcg? and did they check your tubes for ectopic? it could be ectopic, molar, or completely normal and just slow to show up.
