Doh- rupturing the membranes is breaking the water. STRIPPING the membranes is what I meant!!! Hey, you knew what I meant... LOL!
Thanks ladies! I have been having contractions but they normally stop at night UGH! and last appt I was opening and at almost 3cm! I will do tons of walking! I have a dr appt today and will definitely be asking him to strip my membranes!
Early labor can last a very long time and most women don't really notice the signs. But cramping is a good sign. Most women get diarrhea before labor as well, but that can happen even a week or two before going. So it is still anyone's guess when you will actually go into active labor.
But these are good signs! Keep walking and trying to have sex. If you're dilated by your next appointment and still haven't gone into labor, request to have your membranes ruptured. This may cause you to go into labor on your own. I know that with me I had each of my daughters within 24 hours (two separate pregnancies) of having my membranes swept (aka ruptured).
Could be the start. I started experiencing "labor like" symptoms 2 weeks before I went into labor. Had my first baby 2 weeks early and he was 8lbs 4oz and healthy. I also remember having loose stools like a week before I had him. I remember having AF cramps when I first went into labor as well. If my midwife didn't check me that day, I wouldn't have known I was in labor!! I had contractions for 2 days and they would be 10-15 min apart all day, then stop at night. The next day they were 5-10 min apart all day and then stopped again. Finally, on the third day they were 2-3 min and I knew it was for real! Everyone is different, but I would say it sounds like things could be starting at least! =) How exciting! Just start timing your contractions and see what happens. Maybe they will be consistent soon. =)
