Items for baby

I'm just curious to know how many moms have purchased anything for their babies. I'm currently 30 weeks and my baby shower is next month. I was waiting for the shower to see what people would get us so we wouldn't duplicate anything. What do you guys think? By the way this is my first child and we have nothing lol

With our first, we also waited to buy things. We were very fortunate with showers and friends passing on items so we only bought a few clothes items, a co-sleeper and a crib. Also, as much as I like to plan ahead, etc, until recently (our daughter is 3), we have found that trying to buy too far out has resulted in us wasting money. For example, a friend of mine has a very allergic son who couldn't wear most of the cute, graphic t-shirts she had bought and received before his birth. She kept them hoping her second wouldn't have the same sensitivities only to find out she is having a girl for whom she feels most of the items are too masculine!

I bought a couple packs of diapers when they were on sale in different sizes. But I was  given 3 plastic bins of clothes, toys and books from my sister.  She also just dropped off a crib, a toy box, a bassinett and a whole bunch of other stuff too.  I was told take whatever you can because its expensive to have a baby.    however I'm still a little excited for a baby shower.

Definitely wait for your baby shower:-).  I bought her bed before it and had the carseat but that's all I had before mine. Now I have everything but a few items.

Well I'm 24 weeks with our third but hadn't planned on more so I got rid of EVERYTHING, I won't be having a baby shower but everyone knows I donated everything so they keep buying blankets and clothes. I've bought a crib, changing table, dresser, travel system, playpen/bassinet, and the bedding. I'm waiting until a couple of weeks before delivery to get the rest.

Buying baby stuff is very expensive. So just think if you don't get half the stuff you need. Will you have money in the last couple weeks of your pregnancy to buy it all.

Im 29 weeks. I already have the nursery all set up.. And her car seat already in the car.. I have my baby shower next month and have just told people of things I need like cute outfits. Bunny rugs, nappies etc.. This is my second pregnancy.. So I also had to buy a new pram as my son will only be 15 months when she is here..
