I've lost my mucus plug! 36.5 wks...

Mucus plug has gone-Do I call my midwife? I don't think Im suppose to-I have no contractions but Im nervous to wait as I know losing mucus plug is a sign of imminent labour.
Do I just sit it out?

I wouldn't worry or get to excited a mucus plug and regenerate and it doesn't mean labor is near. If your not showing any other signs of labor I wouldn't stress it. Just bring it up at your next check-up. Good luck.

Many women lose their mucus plugs a couple of months before they go into labor. The thing about a mucus plug is that is can regenerate itself.  If you are not having contractions or leaking fluid then I wouldn't worry.  If it gives you peace of mind, mention it to your doctor.

A women can go into labor hours, days, or weeks after losing her mucous plug - there really is no way of knowing.

Hey hun just thought i would share with you my story or so. lol..  But did you lose it all, or is it in pieces?  Cause ive been losing pieces of mine for 2 weeks now, and having major cramps since the plug starting losing, im 37 and half weeks.  and still nothing.  And yes they can regenerate but I doubt it will for as far along as you are.  Even in  my book it saids labor can happen days or hours or weeks after losing the plug.  It took my sister 3 weeks after losing hers, and it took my friend a couple hours only.  So everyone is differnt and plus it all depends on how muhc, if your just losing pieces then it could be a few more weeks, but if you lost all of it, it could be anytime now.  My friend lost all hers at once at 36 weeks and it was like a period she said, so she went to the hospital to get it checked out and dr jsut told her its her mucous plug that its completly gone and said she was 1 cm dialted, couple hours later she was in active labor only at 36 weeks so you never know. I wouldnt call doct jsut let him know at ur next appoitment whether u lost some or all of it... hell check you out.. congrats ur getting so close

I never went into labor with my son and I never lost my mucous plug with him, but I've seen many people on here say that it can regenerate, so just because you lose it now doesn't mean it won't grow back. Good luck, and I hope baby comes soon but not too soon!

haha its no problem! :) your baby would be just fine to be born right now..but might decide to hang out for a few more days which would be even better..either way you've got nothin to worry about.

I have been told labour is imminent when you lose your plug so just freaked me out slightly-as soon as I wrote this post I realised how stupid it looked!
I know you dont call your midwife I spose just wanted someone else to say the same!

oh & your almost full term and your baby would be just fine right now. most doctors won't stop labor after 35 weeks so your midwife probably won't tell you anything that i haven't just told you. keepin you & baby in my prayers.

yeah its okay to wait. losing your mucous plug is normal and not a cause for alarm. your mucous plug is just your 1st line of defense against infection. labor may not happen for weeks after the loss of your mucous plug, or it could happen within the next few days. there's no need to call until contractions are 5 minutes apart or you can't talk through them. :) but how exciting! your getting so close!!
