Just "ANSWER" me, damnit!

Hello All!

I am new to the site and I need some help! My husband and I are trying for a first little one. As far as we know, hubby is healthy, but me on the other hand...we're not so sure of.

Although I been diagnosed in the past year with Endometriosis, I've never had a lap or any other treatment to figure out exactly how far the endometriosis has taken over. Hubby and I do have an appointment set up with a referral doctor (military) on June 17th, only to send us to an infertility specialist only god knows when. So this is where you all come in. :)

I went out and purchased a 7 day ovulation testing kit by ANSWER. For s**ts and giggles, I took a test and to my surprise the LH surge was present...or so we thought. Since I do not have a regular cycle (sometimes 29, 30,31 & up to 60+) I kind of figured "What the h*ll!" and tinkled on the stick even though my last cycle start date was May 4, 2009, making that 27 days (at the time of testing). The first test I took the both lines "looked" to be the same color, so we stripped down and started praying for the best, even though neither one was that "dark", but of course I am looking at what it should look like on a piece of paper. ;)

Now, I just got home and tried another test, to see if whether or not my harmone surge was still present, and it is not. I haven't consumed a lot of liquids or anything to my knowledge that would faulty the test or make it different than before other than doing the deed earlier. Was it actually there to begin with? Did I happen to catch it just in time? Are we reading the freaking tests right?! Please help!

Yeah, that's what I was told as well. My former doc wanted to put me on Lupron and her reasoning for that was not good enough for me to start it. I'm young and the odd's are already against me, I don't want to put my body through more. The only good outcome she said about the Lupron was that since it would stop my cycle, the Endo would not grow for the time I was on it and would also allow the Endo to clear up. The way I see it, Endo has been around for many years before I even was thought of, so I will just have to take it a day at a time and even if it takes a year or more, our miracle will come. My mother has Endo and was told she would never be able to have children, I'm living proof. So, we sha'll see...

I felt the pain which was obviously ovulation and we did get lucky and here we are with our 2nd child after 11 years.  I was on the pill for 11 years and stopped taking it in November.  So, we used other methods prior to two months ago and here I am pregnant.  I really thought that it would have taken at least 5 months to a year but God felt that it was time.  

I hope and pray that it did work this time but it may take up to a year.  That is what I was told.  Not everyone gets pregnant as quick as we did but it is definitely possible.

When I've spoken to doctors they've asked me about when does the pain start for me and I said that usually just for a day about a week before I get my period I get the sharp pains and they told me that it was most likely when I had begun Ovulation.


So, I found myself in pain the night before and took that as a sign that I was ovulating, so we went out and bought a few tests and I was...I guess.


Hopefully I was and we've struck lucky. Hopefully I can contain my excitement and I won't stress myself out because I am a huge worry wart and I over analyze everything...

I have endometriosis as well and it only took me 2 months to get pregnant.  But, we did not use ovulation tests to determine when the right time was.  With endometriosis it is very painful during ovulation and that is how I know when I ovulate.  I really am a strong believer in to just stop trying so hard.  When you try hard you get all stressed and that is a big factor in getting pregnant.  Just let it take its time which I know is very difficult.  I wish you good luck and will send baby dust your way.  I am sure that it will happen but you must try not to stress yourself out so much.

I checked my CM and nothing, that's why I am confused...the test says that I was ovulating, but my "va-jay-jay" shows otherwise. Who ever knew trying getting pregnant would be so complicated?¿?!


Hopefully I was, but it's doubtful. I started prenatals and we've been trying every other day, so hopefully whenever I do ovulate, we will succeed.

Another question, has anyone had success with basal thermometers?

Your LH surge can show up at any time, it may be different throughout the day. I have read online that an LH surge can happen at night while you are asleep so it won't show up on an ovulation predictor. Try checking your cervical mucous. Clean your hands (best to do after a bowel movement or you bear down) using one or two fingers reach inside and find your cervix, may take a few times for you to get used to it, once you know around where it is and how far in to reach the next time just reach in to the tip and swipe it with a finger, remove your finger and test what comes out by pinching between two fingers and pulling them apart. When it looks stretchy and clear like an egg white you're supposedly ovulating within a few days. I stopped using ovulation kits because I never got a positive. I'm surprised the military is sending you to an infertility specialist (DH is military too), but it's a good thing maybe they can help you get your periods a little more regular and help you with getting pregnant.
