Just need a little help

5n1
Okay, I know this is not my first child, and I should probably know all this...but, I am a little confused? LOL I am 35w1d and I went to the dr. yesterday, he did the group b test and while he was there he did an exam, of course with my permission! He told me I was over a 1 dialated, that my cervix was short, but, kinda thick, and that the baby's head was WAY WAY down...I had told him that I was bleeding this past Friday, and he told me that he suspects that was my mucus plug/bloody show, which I was almost positive it was...Okay, so my question to you ladies is, what does it mean about the babys head being down, and how effaced would you say I am, with the given information? Also, since I had my bloody show already, does it mean I could have this baby soon, which would be way to early? He did say she weighs roughly 5.8 lbs...Is there anything you think I should avoid so I dont have her too early?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance for your help and support

Thank you ladies, you all made me feel better...Its just crazy how each pregnancy can be so different...But since I found comfort in everything all you said, I got up and went shopping this weekend and walked walked walked and did not feel "guilty" lol  I was just releases off of rest a week and half ago, so I really havent resumed all activities and I was scared actually...But I feel great being up and moving, except for her punching my bladder and having to stay near a potty lol
How is all your pregnancies going?

It took me until pregnancy #5 to know all the stuff I know now LOL.  Here's MY take on the information you have given:

If your cervix is still kinda thick then most likely you aren't effaced much if at all.  Effacement is the thinning of the cervix.

Becuase this isn't your first baby I'm not suprised that your baby has "dropped" or is really low.  It just means s/he is in position and ready when the time is right.

The thing about your mucus plug is that it may not indicate anything at this point as it can regenerate.  I have a friend who lost most of her plug and had "bloody show" at 32 weeks and ended up being induced on her due date.

At this point if you aren't having contractions or any more bloody mucus it's probably safe to assume that she's trying to stay put for a bit longer.

Just take frequent breaks and don't over exert yourself for the next week or two.

yeah i agree just because this isnt your first doesnt mean you should know everything trust me i am on number 5 an i think i ask just as many questions as a first timer..lol all five of my pregnancys have been so different the things i feel have been also. but i just feel like if there is something going on i have to know what it is..lol sounds crazy right? but i want to know what every move is an every pain every single feeling im feeling. being pregnant is def. an adventure..lol i guess you could say you never know what to expect  an it always ends up in a way to suprise you but the best part is no matter how bad we all want our lil ones out already or how close we are to actuallu haveing them. we are all about to give birth to a maricle soon and end the end when we hold our lil babies we are going to think how funny it that we had this baby inside of us and really when we were sooo over being fat an uncomfy our bodies were creating this beautiful life inside..i just want to say to all of you good luck an god bless you an your babies :) im soooo getting excited...
37weeks today<3

just because this isnt your first, dont feel you should know everything as each pregnancy is different.
You are 35 weeks and from that stage onwards the baby's head will start to engage and get into the birthing position. The baby at this point could arrive from anytime now right up until you are 14 days over due.
But you need to remember that when the baby wants out, it wants out. So try not to worry as you are far gone enough for your baby to survive and being nearly 6lb at 35 weeks is a good weight for your baby. Maybe just start preparing anything incase the baby makes an early appearance.
Best of luck to you

Well i had my little boy at 36 weeks and he weighed 6 lbs even and everything turned out fine. the only thing i can tell you to avoid right now is sex...sperm has something in it that causes your uterus to contract. I swear that may be the reason i went into labor early....good luck!!!!

I think you are fine. I was 2/3cm dialated and 90% effaced from 31 weeks. Head was so low she could feel it. My son was born at 37 weeks 2days. Just try and take it a bit easy if you are concerned.

to me it sounds like maybe your lil one might be ready soon not to say this week but maybe within the next. i wouldnt worry about trying to worry yourself to death about it being here to early i mean really 35wks you are pretty much good. i would say if the head is way way down it just means you are effaced a little more then the average 35wk pregnant person (which is completely okay)  but dont let teh bloody show fool you there is actually alot of mucus plug inside an you could have just lost a great deal of it. meanign its not all out so thats why your not in labor! i think your good an be ready anyday but dont stress out cause labor is a funny natural timiing thing. but either way god bless an good luck! oh by the way i am totally jelous of your news..lol im almost 37wks an have not been checked in months an have not had my group b test either...**sounds stupid but im going crazy to be checked ...lol i want some info like yours..lol

It means your to term... My SIL.. her baby was in the position to come out when she was 34 weeks.. and she came out 2 days after her due date.. just means the baby is getting ready to come out..
But can take anytime from now till its due date to come.. it will come out when its readys too, but its getting into position if that makes sense..
