agree with sunworshipper... it can happen.. and though its rare for it to be strong (cant find a better word for it... too sleepy lol) it is common... I am already dreading my after pregnancy as i have already had 2 knee surgeries at 21 ... so i am wayyy more vulnerable to any kind of knee pain... but anyways back to my point... having had 2 surgeries i can tell u... although it can be arthritis it can also be as simple as tendonitis and can be easily treated with ibuprofen (only if u are not breastfeeding) ice, and if they dont get better physical therapy... tendinitis is usually produced by weight gain... or trauma.. which is rare in pregnancy... so lets stick to weight gain... by losing all the baby weight ur knees (if its not arthritis) should go back to normal... the weight we put on during pregnancy makes us put more weight on our knees which are the main supporters of our body, and the tendons are hurt by all the weight... i still have tendonitis after the surgeries because of the trauma caused to my tendons by hte surgeries... so i hurt a lot during the cold and rainy days... or when standing for long periods of time... i gained about 35 lbs since my first surgery in 2005, and i am very little so 35 lbs is a lot... for me... and my knees would hurt all the time after that... when i became pregnant.. i lost 15 lbs and i am now at my ideal weight (if i werent pregnant) and my knees have not hurt since... so if u still have some of that baby weight on u.. i would suggest losing it to see if it helps ur knees...
Omg thats scary! im too young (26) to have arthritis and no one in my family has that! I just read that it happens to a lot of women and its due to the hormones, I hope they're right :S
LMAO Annie.
If arthritis can develop during pregnancy it's no wonder I have so many aches and pains!
Interesting. I thought it was just because I wasn't getting enough sex. LOL
Some people develop rheumatoid arthritis after the birth of a child I would ask a dr to look into this
Mine still hurt three years later. :(
