It's odd that your doctor said they have to be over 5,000. At 6 weeks your levels can vary and "normal" guidelines for that stage are anywhere from 1,000-57,000. Remember as well, an individual number does NOT tell if a pregnancy is viable, nor does it mean low levels=miscarriage. It's what that number does that determines what might happen. You will need another blood draw in 2 days to determine if something's wrong.
As for the bleeding, it can be very normal. I myself have no had any problems with bleeding while pregnant. My first pregnancy I had no blood until I went into labour, and I was just recently pregnant again. This one I randomly started to bleed identical to a period---no spotting or anything beforehand to suggest something was wrong.
Oh and the Dr also did a papsmear so I will have some slight bleeding because of that as well
