Im 32 weeks and still have a low placenta. I actually just asked my dr the c section question on friday and he said as long as baby is turned the correct way and heart rate doesnt drop that I wont need one and can deliver naturally. Of course, every dr is different as is every woman. Goodluck!
That is a benefit, knowing when the baby comes, just don't really want the surgery so I hope it moves. They're giving me a lot of ultrasounds anyways for other reasons, but I would guess they'll definitely scan me towards the end of the 3rd trimester. Mine is also right around 1cm from the cervix and all the doctor would say was that it usually means you bleed a lot during labor. I'm going to ask about it again at my next appointment.
I have one too - there's only something like a 1 cm margin. Hopefully, it will move or I might have to get a c-section. I have to schedule another u/s later to check on it. How 'bout you? The only real effect so far is that it's also anterior so I feel less movement than last time and my doctor has had a heck of a time finding the heartbeat since all my blood flow is in the way!
I wouldn't worry they say 90% of them move. and at least if it doent you'll know in advance and it won't be an emergency section
I'm 20 weeks, so it sounds like it might move in time. Really didn't want a c-section so I could worry less about recovery than being a new mom, but I'll do what's best for the baby.
I had low placenta @19 weeks had another scan @ 36weeks and it had moved....had easiest delivery ever. I'm now 17 weeks with my second. lets hope this one is as easy. good luck
One of my best friends had a low lying placenta. It never moved and she had to have a c section.
How far along are you...im 16w tues...they said mine is low but they arent worried yet because as my uterus grows it can move higher...im guessing if it doesnt there might be a prob
