They also say depending on the way the baby is laying, if the head is facing towards your back it can cause these types of pain, hang in there u dont have much time left...Good Luck

Menstrual cramping doesnt really signify or mean labour. Those are common and most women experience them as pregnancy progress. You have to remember how much weight and pressure is pushing down on your uterus, legs, hips and muscles. There's a 5 pound baby, fluid, placenta...the end of pregnancy isn't meant to feel good, and pain and discomfort is to be expected. Unless the pain is regular (IE contractions every 5 minutes or less or you have 5 in an hour or more) or is extreme, you're probably not in labour.

If the cramps are getting worse and are getting closer together and are v regular I would get checked again as I didn't have a bloody show and my waters didn't break in my second pregnancy and I was in labour. If the pain is v bad u may be going into labour good luck x

Your water breaking or bloody show are more probable signs that labor is close at hand, not cramps. Cramps won't tell you anything and have more to do with baby's position. Like I said on your other question - the best thing you can do is let baby come when they're ready after 38 weeks. Before then your baby could have immature lungs resulting in them staying at the hospital and being poked and prodded with needles and wires and oxygen masks. I've seen too many babies hooked up to machines. You're the best incubator for your baby right now, as hard and as uncomfortable as it is. Do not try to induce labor.

I had cramps and sharp pains lower in back for a couple months before I had my daughter. I was a pre term labor risk though so I was on bed rest as well. I know that things are getting uncomfortable and you just want your baby out, but the truth of the matter is your baby isn't even considered full term. If you had your baby now there is a very realistic possibility that your baby would not only have to stay in the nicu which means you'd be coming home without your child. At this point most likely the lungs aren't fully developed and it could be bad to be born this early. Hang in there. We've all been through the pains of the last weeks and before you know it will be over with. Most doctors unless there is a medical reason will not induce until 39 weeks at the very earliest. A lot wont even do it unless the baby is past due. Being head down and in position means nothing for how soon the baby will come. At 32 weeks I was 3 cm and 85% effaced and her head was almost completely engaged because she was so low. I wasn't allowed off bedrest until 36 weeks and even then with lots of walking ans spicy food and pineapple I still delivered at exactly 39 weeks.

Could be braxton hicks are they like tightenings?
I know my baby has been engaging a little I know I have been having pains and doc said baby was getting in place so I figured the pain was from that, but I also have been having pains that bring me to my knees like I can't even describe how bad it is and after leaves like a dull ache after figured that it was baby being sooo low down
