Males Midwife

Hello everybody!  Have any of you have a male midwife?  I just realized at my last appointment that my "doctor" is actually a midwife!  Haha.  I never noticed before which column his name was in.  I should've had a clue since he's also the Lamaze class instructor.  I start those today, by the way!  =)  I really like him so it really doesn't make a difference.  I just never thought that guys were midwives!

Yes, men can be midwives. He sounds like a great midwife, especially in the military!!!

Well, yesterday was my first Lamaze class and I loved it!  His official title is Certified Nurse/Midwife.  In fact, he's the only one in the entire Navy!  I'm a Marine, so we get our medical care by the Navy.  After having the Lamaze class, I am 100% convinced that I'm sticking with him!  =)

Midwife means "with woman" so whether female or male - its a midwife!

I have never had one myself, but I do know of one in my area.  No one has anything bad to say about him.

To me, why does gender matter so long as your a comfortable and the care provider meets your needs?  Glad you find comfort in your provider!

LOL the name Midwife does kinda make you think of a Girl Dr. i personnaly have never had a Male midwife, but i have had several male OB that I have loved to have as a Dr. and Midwives do not have to be women. do you think they should call him a Midhusband? LOL! it does sound strange, but i'm glad you like him, that all that really matters!
