Maximum weight lift in the first trimester

Hi all, I was wondering whether any of you have been advised by a DR or specialist or have reliable information on how much weight is a risk for a pregnant woman to carry? specially in the first trimester... and is it different for each trimester... I am almost 6 weeks pregnant and have been carrying my home shopping from the car to home in rounds but some bags had about 4 bottles of 2 liter water or more.... Would need to know so I stop if I need to.  Thanks for your input

alot of the time it depends on what your DR recomends is safe but lifting grocerys in your first trimester is fine unless your a high risk pregnancy and only your doc can confirm that..as you get further along you need to try to lift as little as possible..good luck!!

I'm an RN on an Orthopedic floor and after I miscarried in Dec. I asked my Dr. that, being I lift on people (sometimes they aren't so light) if that may have had something to do with the M/C and he told me absolutely not (not sure that I believe him though).....I know of people who have continued with weight lifting throughout pregnancy too...Not sure of the exact pounds though!
