Medicine while prego!

What king of medicine can I take that is safe for baby? I've been feeling sick for 2 days now & just got up coughing like crazy :( my sides hurt from coughing so much! I'm really ify about taking any medicines while pregnant but I can't take it anymore w/ this cough & mucus. Pls. HELP!!!!!

Mrsreeder2be- 2weeks! Dam!!! That's crazy! So ur Dr. Didn't prescribe you anything to help w/ the cough? I have a Dr. Appt later on today & hoping they can give me something that is safe to take for my cough & congestion! Green climpy mucus is YUCK!!!! & coughing has made me sides hurt so bad!

I've had it for two weeks now. My Dr told me to prepare to be sick for up to two months! Pregnancy is wonderful when it comes to being sick...not. start drinking lots and lots of fluid. Also REST!!!! Do that a lot. That will help as well.

Huajai- I was thinking I'll need some antibiotics cause I am coughing up green mucus. Sorry of tmi. I get worried if my baby is okay Everytime I cough! I have to brace my tummy cuz it hurts! I think I will make an appt. today. Thanks I hope ur sister feels better soon!

Jend83- my Dr. didn't give me a list but I found a website I can check if all medicines are okay to take while pregnant. I just want to be on the safe side. We'll see what Dr. has to say! I just can't stand this cough anymore!!! Thank you

My doctor gave me a list. sudafed, plain robitussion or triaminic expectorant for cough.

My sister is 7 months pregnant and is also sick. She went to the doctor and got some antibiotics. I know it can be a hassle but it's always safer to check with your doc first since they know your medical history. Hope you feel better soon and congrat!
