Miscarriage

Ok...so November we had an early miscarriage (about 4wks). We were not planning on it but December 3rd when I was to start my period, I got a positive pregnancy test. So I called the MD to set up my new OB appt. At that appt. the gestational sac was only measuring 4 weeks, so we thought my dates were just off. We went back 1 week later and it hadn't grown like it should and there was no sign of a yolk sac so the MD wanted to wait one more week. I went back another 2 weeks later and the sac was still empty so the MD said it was a blighted ovum. Saturday night I started bleeding SO bad and (sorry for the detail) large clots about every 30mins-1hr. Sleeping wasn't an option that's how bad it was. My cramps are horrible and I think I can cancel out getting a D&C, but now I just need to know how much bleeding should I expect and how much is too much? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe its if you soak 3 pads in an hour.

I had a m/c at home...and everything passed. i didn't have to have a d&c or go back for a follow up. If you have heavy bleeding I would call your doctor first instead of rushing there right away...just to save you gas money and to ensure that you really need to go get checked out...because you may not need to. However only you know what your going through...none of us ladies do...so obviously if you feel like your gonna' pass out...or something fierce...don't bother calling...just go to the nearest hospital...and have someone drive you there if you can. God Bless you...

Hey there, any sign of severely heavy bleeding and excessive clotting should be taken straight away to the hospital or your OBGYN. whoever happens to be dealing with it, I made the same mistake, I wanted to try to miscarry at home and ended up weeks of misery, I also ended up having the D&C anyways, as well as a few very unpleasant trips to the hospital because I my body was having trouble "passing everything" and I was going to bleed to death. The general thing i was told is, if you are soaking through a pad in less than an hour there is too much bleeding!!! The pain should be no worse than bad period cramps, (mine were like labour pains) If you are still bleeding eavily and cramping alot PLEASE go to the doctor or the hospital don't take the chance, I did and found out I almost killed myself in doing so. good luck and I am so sorry to hear about your loss. :( x

I'm sorry to hear about your m/c. Call your doctor if you're worried, they expect calls from their patients, its their job.
