Missed period while breastfeeding

I am trying to ease my mind and figure out how common it is to miss your period after having your period while breastfeeding an infant. I am breastfeeding a 4 month old, I had a period when she was 2 months and 3 months but now I'm a week late. I have taken 3 pts so far and all negative. how big are the chances that I'm pregnant again? I did start exercising over the last month, and I also starting pumping to stock up on breastmilk. Could that cause me to miss my period this month?

my cycle was wacked the whole time I breastfed (14 months) some cycles it was 30 days others 45, my Dr said some women just dont ovulate while bfing so its possible to not have a period at all. I had to stop bfing to get pregnant with #2.

Yeah I think I'm driving myself a little crazy because I'm analyzing every "symptom." i've experienced nausea the last couple days but could that be from stress? I am really hoping i'm not pregnant again, especially so soon. We have been using a condom, except with foreplay. i know that even though it's slim there's still a chance. Thanks girls!

Has anyone had this experience before? And did you find that you were pregnant, or just irregular?

If you are breastfeeding it's very likely that your cycles are going to be very irregular even if you do have one or two.  However, like Alaysha said, if you are having unprotected sex you are risking another pregnancy.

Your cycles are likely not to get back to "normal" until AFTER you cease breastfeeding

I didn't have very regular period while I was breastfeeding and exercise can throw off your period and even make you miss it completely. But, if you are having unprotected sex it is always possible to get pregnant.
