Missed pills, antibiotics, early cramping - worried/confused

I can't get into my doctors for over a week and a half and I'm now getting worried.

I am on the mini pill and have been for a few months now.  My last period was on 29th April and was normal however today I am getting mild craping and (sorry if tmi) but very feint and sometimes stringy deep pink/browny discharge whenever I wipe but never notice anything in water when I pee so wouldn't know unless wiping with tissues.

I am wondering if it could be implantation or an early pregnancy sign as for the past week I forgot to take the mini pill and have been having sex once/twice a day every day with my fiance (we've discussed trying soon so neither of us are too worried about me forgetting the pill - although I was planning to get back on track but not sure if I should or not now.)

I'm normally a 28 day cycle very rarely one day early or late.  And I was on some antibiotics from 5th May onwards for a chest infection (can't remember which they we're but was alternative to penicillin as allergic) which was for a week and finished on 11th April but I also missed the pill from 9th onwards.  If 28 days am I right in thinking that is around ovulation time.

Do you think its possible or could it be AF coming way too early for some reason?  Based on my info above on cycle if AF doesn't arrive when is the best date to test?  Or is it even possible to test before i'm due which I think would be around 27th May?

Arrrrghh i'm cramping again without a sign of AF...wtf!!! lol

Sorry if I'm going on, it's handy to vent plus you never know someone may appear who has had the exact same thing happen.

Forgot add, I have noticed over past two days a lot more CM than normal.

Could that mean I'm back to ovulating again ?

(I thought that was happening just before the incident in first post as a lot of CM then too)

Hmmmm, it's way too confusing being female sometimes.

Last night I could have sworn AF cramps were starting up.  Turns out I needed a number 2 (although took a while to actually go as I couldn't go for agesfor some unknown reason)

So back to lost again! lol

I'm not sure if its worth wasting money on another one just yet or not.  Still no af but have a crampy feeling as if it could be coming.

If you took a test a couple of days after your initial bleeding, then it would have been too soon to detect a pregnancy.  I would definitely take one now, since your period was due yesterday.

Ok here is what I have found about the mini pill. First, they aren't as effective as the regular pill so missing one pill puts you at a significant increase of becoming pregnant over other BC pills.

"The most common side effect for women using Mini-Pills is irregular bleeding. While many women on Mini-Pills have normal periods, others may have irregular periods, spotting between periods or no periods at all. If you do not bleed for 60 days, call the clinic to arrange for a pregnancy test but continue taking your pills."

Really, If you don't care if you become pregnant then I would just stop the pills all together. This way you will have normal cycles and will have a much better chance of knowing what is going on. If you want to stay on them then wait until your next AF before starting them again and don't miss any. This way you will know if you are pg and will be back on cycle.

Mine are 28 day ones as on the mini pill rather than combined so don't get the regular withdrawl bleed (was told it was more like a natural one by doctor as its not scheduled fully like on combined pills).

Got a quick query about all this if anyone has experienced it before. I did a pregnancy test a couple of days after this all happened but it was negative (not sure if too early or not - any opinions welcomed as this is all new to me lol)

However now i'm not sure where I should be measuring cycle from any more, would it be from proper period date (in which case I should have got AF this morning and didn't) or do I now work 28 days from the incident even though it wasn't anything like a regular AF?

BCP are designed so that you take them for 21 days and then stop to allow a withdrawal bleed. This is NOT a period. When you are on BCP, any time you stop them for more than 3 days you can have withdrawal bleeding. Chances are that between the antibiotics and missing so many pills, that is what was happening.

With that said, it is possible to have withdrawal bleeding and ovulate at the same time. Since you have stopped bleeding, I would wait until your normal AF to start them again (that is if you want to!) This way, if you are pg then no harm is done. If you don't want to become pg I would use another form of bc until you start your pills again but it sounds like you two would be happy if you got pg so maybe just stop bc all together and let mother nature decide when it is best for you to have a baby.

That was meant to say was it pregnancy SIGN lol  Easier said that done posting from your mobile.

Has anyone had any experience of the above and found they were actually pregnant?

Ok completely gone this morning.  Has anyone else ever had this happen...was it pregnancy or just a random event as I am normally like clockwork every 27-29 days and for 4-5 days straight, very red and medium to heavy.

This was nothing like normal and i'm not supposed to have AF until 27th?

Totally confused now, spotting started thursday, got heavier friday and this morning, yet now back to feint spotting.  Weird AF or what? lol

I've literally NEVER had anything like this happen before despite being on pill for years and missing some in past (although never around ovulation time granted)

I've not got sugar pills. They're literally just ones taken every day and any pill can be taken each day so will have to wait til 27th as that was when AF was meant to be. So would be almost 2 weeks early if this was it but it's nothing like my normal AF

Lol, when I conceived with this baby... I had alot of cramping. I wasn't on BCP's tho so I had no discharge. :) Good luck! Take a test when your period is due (or when your supposed to take the week of sugar pills)

Update:

Don't think i've been lucky..i've been cramping all day with brown discharge still but a lot more than before (covered up just in case it was AF).  Not sure its AF or not still though as its nothing like it has ever been in past.  (Sorry if TMI) but its always bright red and fast for me.

Bit disappointed now as it would have been a lovely surprise.

Thanks...I told my fiance when it started and he got excited...i'm really hoping it has happened.  Still not sure if I should carry on taking my pills or not though as I don't want to harm chances in case it has happened.

I would suggest you wait until your next period is due to test to avoid getting an inaccurate response from testing too early. It's very much possible that you're pregnant because 1. you skipped several pills and went on to have unprotected sex and 2. even if you had taken your bc as directed, taking antibiotics can render bc ineffective. The discharge may have been caused by the hormonal changes in your body from skipping pills or a number of other things, implantation...ovulation...etc. Good luck.
