Morning after pills

Hi.. I am 22 years of age. On June 27 night  I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke and he finished it inside me. Then I went to the GP next morning and he advised me to take morning after pill. I took the the first dosage within 6 hours of the incidence. Before I took the second pill I had my periods  (which was actually the due date that is 28th June). However to be safe I still took the second dose of the morning after pill in night in proper time.

Then that period lasted for 7 days with regular bleeding and colour However, I have not got my second periods till now. I was suppose to get it around 28th July. Today its 3rd August. I took home pregnancy test 2 days back, it showed negative. Do you think I am pregnant or is it because of the effects of the pills.

I agree with leighanne. There was no way you could've conceived at the end of your cycle. You should monitor your fertility because you'll be less likely to conceive if you know about conception and ovulation. That way you'll also not have to put yourself through taking the Morn. After pill again.

the fact that you got your period the next day after the condom broke, means you prob were no where near ovulating.  i mean some women ovulate at crazy times but if your cycle is normal, then you usually ovulate 2 weeks after your period, so there is not a big chance that your pregnant.

Thank you so much for your replies.. at least for now I feel relieved. Yes, after this incidence I am considering for other forms of birth controls.

i took that pill, which what i was given was really storng birth control pills, when i was 16 years old due to the same exact thing, the comdom broke and i was so nervous.  well after taking it, my period was wacky for 2 months.  i got one period for like 2 weeks straight and then my next one was late.  i would say negative test means your not pregnant and it is just a side effect of the pill.  Have you thought of going on birth control plus the condoms?  it gives you a least a little more reassurance.

I took this years ago when hubby and I were dating, we normally relied on my bc pills but I was on antibiotics, so we had to use protection but it broke...I remember it making my cycles off afterwards...You are probably not prego especially since you had sex so close to the  day your period would start and since you took the pill...good luck

The after morning pill can do three things It can either stop a fertalized egg from attaching to the uterus stop the release of an egg or shed your lining depending on what part of the cycle your body is already in.

I would say if your test came back negative you are not pregnant.  I took this pill right after I had been raped and he ejaculated into me. I started bleeding with in a few days even though my period was not due for 1 1/2 weeks.  Not all cycles are exactly 28 days between either.  June 27th to July 28th is a 34 day cycle  Mine was June 26th to July 27th.  Just a few days off from yours.  I would say that your fine and not to worry
