Morning sickness? ??

I'm 6 weeks .. I know it's time for it but I didn't know it was all day thing. I can't hold even water down and it starts as soon as I wake up. Could barely handle being in class . anything I can do to help myself eat or just feel better ?

I would call your doctor I'm on Zofran now because mine was so bad all day. And this does WONDERS! the only side effect is constipation.. but I can actually get thru my day without missing work or class. Good luck!

"Morning" sickness is definitely not solely a morning affliction, and as we're approaching summer it can actually become dangerous if you're having trouble keeping water down.

Try keeping a salty food by the bed, pretzels are a good one but anything salty will do, salted nuts, a jar of peanut butter, popcorn, crackers, tortilla chips...and nibble before you truly wake up or get out of bed. Before you even loft your head from the pillow! Think of even the oddest combinations of salty and sweet, a bit of watermelon or a strawberry with just a pinch of salt.
Never drink anything fast! Sip teeny tiny bits of water or Gatorade type of drink consistently throughout the day, even better is to suck on crushed ice or smashed up ice cubes. Snow cones will be hour New best.friend. At this point  it really shouldn't matter much whether you're eaten poorly, the baby will get what it needs from you but dehydration is a real concern. Please contact your Dr if you continue for have difficulty keeping fluids down. Be proactive, if you are truly worried, let your Dr know you seriously think you need IV fluids. It's a horrible catch 22: the vomiting leads to dehydration and the dehydration leads to nausea and further vomitting. If you do get to the point of going in for some IV fluids you may notice after they get a bag in you, you feel  amazing! It's true. Best you'll feel is when you've had a liter or 2 of IV fluids because you're fully hydrated. Chances are they'll check your electrolytes and the IV will provide you any salts, sugar, minerals, etc that the vomiting has depleted. Hyperemisis Gravidarum is serious, make sure both you and your Dr take your nausea and vomiting seriously.

Other things that might help are:  sea sickness bands you wear on your wrists, acupuncture, tums, papaya enzyme tablets, Good Earth Spice Tea,  and of all things...discuss with your Dr the Unisom concept. Unisom is an over the counter sleep aide medication in the US. Apparently it has been found to treat and resolve "morning" sickness and hyperemisis gravidarum safely in other countries. Of course this is something you should only consider  with your Dr's guidance. Some find the flavor of black licorice helpful and suck on a good n' plenty throughout the day. As mentioned, ginger helps many women, if ginger tea doesn't work, dried candied ginger might. During one of my pregnancies I found dried pineapple helpful.

All my best...

I would always puke with milk, so if that happens don't go for it. A doctor in the er told me that cinnamon graham crackers, Gatorade, water, and saltines work amazing to settle your stomach. I had terrible morning sickness from weeks 8-34 and every morning (still laying in bed) I would snack on a few cinnamon Graham's and sip Gatorade (you have to sip otherwise it will hit all at once and cause you to vomit) this helped me SO much and I'd also keep a few Graham's in my purse alone with some saltines to snack on during the day so I could hold down my lunch

Get some ginger altos. I herd they work amazing. Just pop one under your tongue when you feel nauseous. I haven't had morning sickness . . yet. Lol but try it.

I know this sounds gross and crazy but try milk and mt.dew. i just sip milk, sip dew, and repeat. It sounds crazy but it really settles the tummy. It really helped me when my morning/allday sickness was really bad. Once ur tummy settles stick to the BRAT diet for awhile. bananas, rice, apple sause, and toast
