Oh and during my first pregnancy I bled worse than a period for 5 weeks early in it and that daughter is now 3 years old so you never really know what will happen.
80 is a perfect level for how far along you are. I got my levels checked at 4 weeks and they were 48 and my daughter is now 4 months old. Like Clysta said it doesn't matter what they are at just as long as they double. Cramping in early pregnancy is completely normal and just your uterus getting ready for baby. Brown blood is old blood and not cause for concern. Even with the little bit of red you saw, spotting can be normal in early pregnancy. I would go see your obgyn. A lot of people mistakenly think when they are pregnant and spot or cramp that they should go to the er. Unless you are 20+ weeks there isn't anything the hospital can do to stop a miscarriage and because the doctors in the er aren't trained obgyns they usually give wrong advice and diagnosis.
The same happened to me ,I tested positive few days later I started spotting then I misscarried
my levels were low too so I agree with your Doctor ,on the hand I hope your not misscarrying and to have a healthy baby
good luck
Get a second opinion, you doctor seems crazy. Just because your level is 80 doesn't mean your miscarrying. They have to start someplace. The important thing is how your levels rise and double. While it could very well be a miscarriage (I'm not saying it is or isn't) he can NOT make that assumption on what he has. Cramping is also not a for sure sign as well. Many women cramp and spot in early pregnancy and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I had cramping up till 20+ weeks. Brown discharge is old blood your body is expelling and isn't cause for concern. Generally you don't want to see red blood, but it also isn't always cause for concern, especially if it's not a lot. Good luck with everything.
