At my 20 week scan with my middle daughter I was told she had a right choroid plexus cyst. I freaked out but the doc assured me it was very common and they almost always resolve themselves. I, too, researched on the internet and read the same thing. At my 32 week ultrasound it was completely gone, she is now a healthy, happy 7 yo.
All you need to do is go to the health card Canada place and they will give you a temporary.... I had a similar situation with my son a couple years ago. I hope everything is okay with the baby!!!
Im not sure if when you moved, you moved from another province or somewhere else in Ontario. But with a lost card, you can probably call them and get your health card number... Your doctors office should have it on file (old one if necessary) if you cant get through to someone at OHIP. You only need to be able to give them a health card number for the time being.
Call ServiceOntario, Infoline at 1-866-532-3161
If you moved from another province, and never had an Ontario health card, then you could call OHIP to inquire about getting a temporary health card number and have them send you the application. If thats not possible, you can get your old health card number rom your old province and you are still covered on that provinces insurance as long as you mvoed occured in the last 3 months (it might even be 6 months).
I know here in Nova Scotia, we call MSI all the time to get people temporary health card numbers and just for their numbers because they lost the card.
If you are from another country and not a permenant resident of Ontario yet, it may be harder....
But as a Canadian, you have a right to subsidized healthcare and a missing health card doesnt waive that right... so to sum up your options.
1. Call your doctors office (old, new, etc) and ask them for your health card number and expiry date. Then get the application in with OHIP Asap.
2. Call OHIP or your previous province health care program and get your health card number back and file the application for a new OHIP one.
3. Call OHIP and inquire if you can get a temporary health card # while you wait for your application as you are a PERM. Resident and need emergency medical attention.

Hey
When I was pregnant with my daughter she had two cysts on her brain when I went for my routine ultrasound. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said that it can be very normal and if there are no other signs of abnormalities than I shouldn't be concerned. I do remember the sonographer looking at her head, hands and feet very closely for signs of a strawberry shaped head or webbed feet and hands and she didn't have either.
If they couldn't see any other indicators of abnormalities then they should just disappear. My daughter was born very healthy and she is not 18 months old. I wouldn't be too concerned but I would definately have the ultrasound for peace of mind.
First off as far as the billing issue goes, go to the Appt anyway because you can't afford not to! Let them bill you for it.. Just explain you don't have the money for it. They can't deny you to have it done! Secondly call and get a new card, when it comes in provide your Dr's office with that card... Third, don't stress... Chances are this cyst will go away and could possibly do so by the time the baby is born... Check out this website ..... Maybe this will help ease your mind a little.... Like I stated don't NOT GO to that appt. Just explain to the Dr's office that a new card is on it's way and you will get it to them ASAP when it gets in.. Your baby' health is nothing to mess around with and they can't deny seeing you just for that....
