Thanks a lot to Everyone for taking time to comment. In the ultrosound it was found that my baby's back is facing upwards. So maybe that was a cause for not moving. I also went through stress test and baby's heartbeat was excellent. Since two days back baby started moving. Happy new year to you all.
I'm 27 weeks right now and i feel my baby move alot more when i'm laying down or at night or in the morning...i've been to the hospital a few times because i was worried that something was wrong, but i had an ultrasound done and everything was perfect. They say that sometimes the baby finds a comfortable postion and just stays there, and sometimes they are just lazy....don't worry i'm sure that everything is ok.
my oldest didn't move much, but in her case it was becuase I wasn't reproducing the amniotic fluid so the lower the fluid got, the harder it was for her to move around. She too was small for her gestational age. I had her full term at 9 months but she only weighed 4 lbs 15 oz and was 18 1/4". The doctors simply called it Intrauterine growth retardation becuase of the lack of fluid. She is now an active, healthy 11 yo.
I totally understand why you would be nervous. I am 31 weeks with my second child and my first child never moved, i had stress test done 2/week and he was fine, i just never felt him move. He was borning healthy and is a active 6 yr old boy now.
Here's a test you can try when you start to feel nervous. Drink a tall glass of ice water and eat a little snack (like fruit, half a sandwich, etc.). Lay down on your side and count how many movements you feel within an hour. If baby moves more than ten times in an hour, your baby is fine. Typically, baby will start moving and stretching so much you can't really count. If baby moves more than 10 times before the hour is up, you don't have to lay there the entire hour if you don't want to.
If your baby is facing your back, you probably won't feel movement because it is directed towards your spine, not your belly. Also, you're far along in your pregnancy so movement decreases as baby has less and less room.
And lastly, babies have different personalities. Some babies just kick and roll and some babies like to just lay still. It's all fine and normal so long as you try that trick I just told you and baby starts moving. The movements can be rolling, kicking, stretching... ANY movement counts!
Anytime you feel concerned about it, you need to call your doctor.
Please let us know what happens when you try this test to see how much baby is moving.
hey as long as you feel movement every few hours it should be fine. it could be that its awake when your asleep vice verca. if your still worried dont feel ashamed on getting your doc to check you or even get a sec opinion. merry christmas
