My repeat c-setion experience

I had my baby girl on Monday, via c-section, and as a LOT of you ladies know, I was terrified, haha. I got there around 6am, immediately got my IV and started a hydrating drip so I wouldn't get nausea during my c-section, and then the catheter was placed (definitely uncomfortable, not going to lie, but nothing unbearable). I laid there for about an hour waiting for the drip to finish and they called me down to the OR, I was given medicine to help with nausea in case I got it, and sat on the table, they did my IV with me leaning forward, didn't hurt at all, just literally felt like a poke warm/stinging sensation, very, very quick. And I immediately started to feel numb so I laid back and as soon as I laid back, the pressure of Chloe and the medicines made me nauseous, I threw up a couple of times and as soon as I did I felt better. My husband came in and by this point they had already started the surgery, I threw up once during surgery, again from the anesthesia. I could feel everything they were doing, cutting, tugging, pulling, it just didn't hurt, and honestly it didn't freak me out much either. Then the doctor said okay dad get the camera ready here comes her head, and then one shoulder, second shoulder, and I heard that LOUD beautiful cry, and she cried and cried til she was cleaned up and daddy was holding her. They took her away and I went to recovery after I got finished being sewn up, and about 30 minutes later I was holding my beautiful little princess!! She's such a good baby, latches on perfectly, eats great, doesn't cry unless she's got something wrong with her. Ladies with repeat c-sections (although this won't help til it's over for you, too haha) it's NOT bad..the anxiety is the worst and you'll see once you're done and out that it's not as bad at all. The IV, spinal, catheter were a breeze, and honestly the c-section was NOTHING at all because the spinal helped so much for so long, by the time that was worn off my medication was helping with any pain I would've felt, and I wasn't taking medicine, only 2 times a day since yesterday, 2 days after the surgery! Feeling sore still of course, and trying not to overdo it, SO hard with a houseful of work to do haha! Nothing to worry about at all, I was so glad to have been awake this time, there really is NO feeling like hearing them cry for the first time, or hearing "here comes the head", I cried the whole time, from the moment I heard her little cry til when I was in recovery haha! So glad to be home, and enjoying my little ones all I can!!

I had my first that way... I had an emergency c-section with my first, this was my 2nd, planned c-section. For my first it was emergency and I was given gas and put under, let me tell you, it is night and day different between emergency and planned c-sections, my planned was sooooo easy, so calm, so amazing, i absolutely loved it!! I waited til my son was almost 3 years old and had another, but you don't have to wait that long, if you want to try for vaginal birth after a c-section then it's best to wait 1-2 years, otherwise just about a year is what they recommend if you just want a planned c-section next time.

My husband's so queezy too, and hates seeing me in pain, but he did great, he loved seeing her being born, I would definitely try talking him into it, it's amazing! I thought I would freak out feeling everything too, I can't even watch a c-section video without being grossed out, and it was surprisingly peaceful, the spinal is seriously so calming I didn't even think of that!

In fact - Im waiting for her to call me back. Im gonna tell her if I end up having one she has to be there. Ugh now Im all paranoid...

Omg Id of been freaking from feelibg everything they were doing. I dont think my hubby could bear seeing me have a csection. Id defintely would have to have my sister there with me for that because she had to have one for her son.

There was some pain getting up the first time, but not bad at all, the medicine more than took care of that it felt more like a bruise than anything!

I stayed 2 nights! I went in on monday morning and got out wednesday morning. I also stayed 4 with my first so that was sooo quick and great! glad to be home!

that was one of my big fears too, and honestly i still had it up until i was on the operating table, it's nothing at all to worry about, that was the farthest thing from my mind at that moment, you'll be so preoccupied with everything else, and honestly once the baby is out and you see him/her you'll be stress free and nothing but excited!

Thanks for sharing its made me feel better about what is most likely the option I'll have to make. How quickly were you home compared to first time? I'm so worried they'll keep me in for 4 days again and I know I'll just want to be home!!

Thanks for sharing glad it all went well and congratulation! I'm opting for a c section this time cos I had to be put to sleep with my first too and I  want to be awake for this one. So scared of being sick during the procedue though and getting distressed and not being able to move, how do I deal with this?

Love the details you included Ktwone thanks so much for sharing. I actually think I am more frightened of vomitting than of the surgery. I hate throwing up more than anything. I guess its that whole choking feeling that gets to me. Can't wait to get my little guy here! This has made me feel less anxious and frightened.
