NEED HELP;; PREGNANCY

Hi All,,

I have been trying for a baby for past 2 years and still unsuccessful due to polysistic ovary. And last May 08 I did an ovarian drilling and on September I got pregnant with the help of Dunium (Clomid) but 5th week I had a miscarriage and Doctors don't know the reason for it.

And every month we are trying.

Thats why we decided to go for a IUI. For first IUI I Ovulated and did IUI on 8th Jan 2009 and as per doctor's instruction we did test for Beta hcg on 14 Jan 2009 morning, my result is below:

Serum Total Beta hcg     2.73 mlu/ml

NOTE: Expected Values

Normal Female   <1
Postmenopausal Women <6
Normal Male <1.6

After reviewing the report Doctor simply said its negative and keep on doing IUI for 4 more times and if not successful we better do a IVF.

I would really appreciate if you could please clarify for me these things.

1. is it possible to detect pregnancy that early
2. Normal woman should be below 1, why I am at 2.73

Now I'm taking Glucophage (metformin). 850mg morning, 500mg afternoon, 850mg night.
And Doctor said even if I got pregnant I should take it for first 3 months, because recent studies shows it helps.

Thanks a lot

Hi,

unfortunately I started bleeding Yesterday and now my beta hcg is 0.23.

And today Doctor said I'm having a normal period and try this time. Tomorrow I will get reports of Progesterone, Estradiol, Fsh and Testosterone I guess these all are hormone related.

Please tell me the best vitamins I should use, Now I'm taking Folic Acid 5mg (FOLIC ACID TABLETS I. P. 5mg)per day. Should I take Vitex,Evening Primrose Oil and Omega 3 as well.

Hope to hear from you guys as soon as possible.

thanks for the help

I agree with JoyRenee and please don't get discouraged. Many women with PCOS have conceived.  Just make sure you do check your progesterone levels and get supplements if you need them. Good luck, honey!

No, it is not possible to detect pregnancy 6 days past IUI. You should take a pregnancy test on January 22 to get an accurate result. You can take a test at home.

If you are pregnant, please make sure you get your progesterone levels checked. If they dip below 20 request supplements.

And any HCG under 5 is considered normal in a non-pregnant woman.
