NUMBNESS

I HAVE OCCASIONAL NUMBNESS IN MY HANDS, MOSTLY MY LEFT. IT HAPPENS THROUGHOUT THE DAY BUT MAINLY AT NIGHT. THE PAIN IS SO BAD I CANNOT SLEEP. IT FEELS LIKE MY HAND WEIGHS A TON AND FEELS LIKE MY HAND IS ON FIRE. NOTHING I DO WILL RELIEVE IT. YES I DO TEND TO SLEEP ON Y HANDS,BUT SOME NIGHTS ARE WORSE THAN OTHERS. I KNOW THIS IS SOMETIMES NORMAL IN PREGNANCY, BUT THIS STARTED BEFORE PREGNANCY, BUT NOW IS GETTING WORSE. PLEAES HELP!

If this started prior to pregnancy you need to tell your regular dr and your OB about it. They probably cannot even do any tests at this point bc you are pregnant but at least they will know so after delivery that can figure it out

I have this in my hands too and mine was diagnosed as pregnancy induced carpal tunnel. My right hand is far worse than my right. I think that is because I am right handed? Not sure though. It was really bad when it first started but now I can live with it. But is by far the worst symptom I have had during this pregnancy. I am being treated by an acupuncturist and that does offer some relief. You can also wear braces on your hands at night...although, I end up taking mine off in the middle of the night. Be careful about dropping things and grabbing hot items. I have dropped all sorts of things and burned my fingers a few times because I can't feel them. I hate to say that the doctor told me I would just have to deal because It won't go away till after I deliver.

You need to mention this to your dr asap.  It might be something like carpal tunnel but could also signify something far more serious.
