Need Feedback Regarding Potential New Communities

Question

Hi,

We wanted to ask each of you what you thought of an idea we were looking into. We are considering setting up a community for pregnant women, but centered around the month of your pregnancy. So, either '2 months pregnant' or "February babies", something like that. The thinking being, that each month of pregnancy poses different challenges, steps, and experiences so being able to connect with other pregnant women in the same month would be beneficial. 

These would not replace the existing communities, but will just be additional ones. Let us know what you think and thanks for being part of MedHelp!

I find myself looking at other posts to try and find ladies that are due around the same time as me and check up on what they are going through.  
making a due in _______ month group would be perfect and so much easier to bond with others.

that does sound like a good idea, and i like the idea that it wouldnt replace the already existing pregnancy 34 and under because thats an awesome group i will probably always be visiting!

sounds great. In my opinion, the existing forum is the best place to share experiences and to get advices.
I'ld like to share my experiences with preggers of same stage, but would love to take advices from preggers who are far along than me.

I think its a good idea! I also don't think it would hurt to have a place for women that are trying to get pregnant.

I also like that we will be keeping the ones we have too though!

I agree with JoyRenee on this one.  I very much like that idea.  It would be much easier to use "DUE June" or "June Mommies." People are always making new post saying, "June mommies check in", so I think that would be a great idea!!

I think LosingMyMindInGA has a wonderful idea as well! I am thinking though so there isnt alot of jumping around from month to month community there could be a 1st Trimester community, 2nd Trimester and so on, get me?

I, too, agree with Joe...I think the "due date" communities would be a great idea.  Perhaps it could be considered to have communities or sub-communities that are specific to the major types of pregnancy complications such as:
preeclampsia
gestational diabetes
cervical issues
pcos
pre term labor

etc.

I personally like the idea how having it be the months of the year (such as DUE DECEMBER 2008) so that women could communicate with people who are due the same month as them, and are at the same stages in their pregnancies. To have just communities for the MONTHS (like 4th Month of Pregnancy, etc.) would mean people would have to move to a different community every month and not "stay put".

Fantastic idea, not only will it help others feel as if they are not the only one going through pregnancy, it will also give others something to look forward to. As far as if you join the 2-3 month community, you can look ahead and see what the 5-6 month ladies are dealing with. It may give you something to look forward to or offer up something to prepare for!

Sounds like a great idea to me. That would of been something I would of loved during my pregnancy and I think it would be great for the people who are currently pregnant or trying!
