Need advice about chances of being pregnant.

I just started Yasmin (birth control pill) this month and just took my last active pill today. I am concerned because I sort of kind of had unprotected sex yesterday. What I mean is that it was very brief (less than a minute probably) vaginal intercourse and my partner did not ejaculate inside. I am not sure the birth control pill is working since I have only been on them for less than a month and during the second week I skipped one day by accident and then doubled up the next day and the day before the unprotected sex I took it 3 hours later than usual by accident. I am planning to get plan B tomorrow just to be on the safe side but I was wondering when I will get my period (assuming I'm not pregnant) after taking plan B since I have been on birth control pills and is suppose to have withdrawal bleeding soon this week if I am not pregnant and didn't take plan B.

My personal opinion is no (in regards to Plan B). I never recommend it to anyone.

I had unprotected sex about two weeks after I missed a day of my birth control pills. I think I am going to get like an injection or something after this. I thought I would remember to take the pill but it's just hard sometimes and I don't want to risk it.

In all of your opinions, do you think I should take plan B?

Oh I hate Plan B with a passion. It's just my opinion and you have a choice but it is a high dose of hormones that can really mess up your cycles. I hate how confused people are after they take it and come on here because they're bleeding heavily or not getting periods, etc.

Because you haven't been established on your BC just yet, and you missed a day, it is possible. Women ovulate 2 weeks before their period is due. So if you had that unprotected sex about 2-2.5 weeks before your withdrawal bleeding I'd be concerned that it could be a possibility.

BC is also not 100% effective and should be combined with another form of BC (such as condoms) if you don't wish to be pregnant. I know more women who got pregnant while on BC than off of it, even after they've been on it for months or even years.

Most doctors say to take your B/C for a month before it becomes effective, some actually start working earlier, but to be on the safe side you usually should wait at least a month for it to get into your system. ALSO, taking it at the same time everyday helps, but it's not a huge problem, and 3 hours later won't affect much. It's really up in the air if you're pregnant, but since you're so close to your period, I wouldn't worry about you having sex during your ovulation time. You probably aren't pregnant, but it's always a possibility. If you're supposed to get your period this week, then you should if you're not pregnant, and if you take plan B it can alter your period date, so keep that in mind if you take it. Good luck!
