Need advice

Ok, so my last period started April 29th. I took a pregnancy test last night, but in order to do it, i drank apporx 1 liter of water right before. The test came out negative. The only other time that I've ever missed a period before was when i was pregnant with my son, and then the tests continued to come out negative until i was 3-4 months pregnant. What i'm wondering is if 1) the water could have diluted the urine and effected the test result, and 2) if it's normal to be that far along without the hormone appearing in the urine. Any advice would be greatly helpful.

Thanks everybody!! I may have to try again, and if this one's neg. I may have to go to the dr.

It is very possible that the water diluted the urine, that's why you aren't supposed to drink a ton before taking a pregnancy test. And 2) First morning urine is the BEST because it is the most concentrated. I would try testing again first thing tomorrow morning or the next. For some woman it takes up to a week late before they get a positive.

If the test still show up neg. and you are 2 weeks late for your period I would go to the doc for a blood test. Good Luck!

Just to make sure, it would be a good idea to take another test in about a week. . . but it would be an even better idea if you would take the test first thing in the morning. Good Luck!

Yes the water can dilute it thats why they suggest you do it with first morning urine, before you ever drink anything in the morning do the test when you first go to the bathroom, and my best friend had the same thing, her preg urine tests didnt show positive for the first couple of months she was pregnant, i would test again with first morning urine or go to the doc for a blood test.
